الوصف: An increasing attention is being given to treat fruits with ultraviolet C (UV-C) irradiation to extend shelf-life, senescence, and protection from different diseases during storage. However, the detailed understanding of the pathways and key changes in gene expression and metabolite accumulation related to UV-C treatments are yet to be explored. This study is a first attempt to understand such changes in banana peel irradiated with UV-C. We treated Musa nana Laur. with 0.02 KJ/m 2 UV-C irradiation for 0, 4, 8, 12, 15, and 18 days and studied the physiological and quality indicators. We found that UV-C treatment reduces weight loss and decay rate, while increased the accumulation of total phenols and flavonoids. Similarly, our results demonstrated that UV-C treatment increases the activity of defense and antioxidant system related enzymes. We observed that UV-C treatment for 8 days is beneficial for M. nana peels. The peels of M. nana treated with UV-C for 8 days were then subjected to combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis. In total, there were 425 and 38 differentially expressed genes and accumulated metabolites, respectively. We found that UV-C treatment increased the expression of genes in secondary metabolite biosynthesis related pathways. Concomitant changes in the metabolite accumulation were observed. Key pathways that were responsive to UV-C irradiation include flavonoid biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid bios6ynthesis, plant-pathogen interaction, MAPK signaling (plant), and plant hormone signal transduction pathway. We concluded that UV-C treatment imparts beneficial effects on banana peels by triggering defense responses against disease, inducing expression of flavonoid and alkaloid biosynthesis genes, and activating phytohormone and MAPK signaling pathways.

مستخلص: A comprehensive understanding and profound grasp of the theory of Chinese modernization is a powerful weapon for striving to create a comprehensive construction of a strong socialist modernization country. Chinese modernization has profound theoretical origins, and it is the innovative development of Marxist theory localized in China. The development of Chinese modernization has undergone three major transformations, practicing the logic of development practice from passive to active, from exogenous to endogenous, and from single to high quality. At the new historical starting point, Chinese modernization has manifested the truthfulness of Marxism and promoted its innovative development. It has created a miracle of modernization development and promoted the construction of China's socialist modernization power. It opened up a new form of human civilization and injected new momentum into the development of human civilization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

الوصف: BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to investigate the potential anti‐obesity effects of Camellia nitidissima Chi flower extract (Cnfe) by examining its effects in terms of the regulation of lipid levels and modulation of gut microbiota in rats with high‐fat‐diet‐induced obesity. RESULTS Our results demonstrated that Cnfe significantly decreased weight gain by reducing appetite and decreasing high‐fat food intake. Further, Cnfe restored normal lipid metabolism and improved insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance in rats fed a high‐fat diet. Real‐time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot results showed that Cnfe significantly decreased the expression of genes and proteins involved in adipogenesis and lipogenesis, and upregulated the expression of lipolysis genes. 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing of feces showed that Cnfe dramatically reversed dysbacteriosis in rats with high‐fat‐diet‐induced obesity by decreasing the abundance of Firmicutes and increasing that of Bacteroidetes and Verrucomicrobia at the phylum level. CONCLUSION The results demonstrate that Cnfe is a potential anti‐obesity prebiotic nutrient that can prevent weight gain, ameliorate obesity‐related dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia, inhibit liver fat accumulation, and modulate gut microbiota. © 2020 Society of Chemical Industry

الوصف: HPLC analysis for paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) in shellfish foods has now become a current method in the world,in which PSP standard is necessary. Unfortunately, commercial PSP standard has now become difficult for handling in china,as some purification technique of PSP has not been still breached, and the PSP substance has now been recognized into the list of chemical weapons. Preparing independently some PSP standard is necessary and will be a good way for solving the standard substance problem in china. In this paper, extraction and purification of PSP was discussed, using a poisoned scallop sample as a material. The total toxicity of the crude PSP extract solution was 6 170 MU,while using acid 80% ethanol as an extractant. From the crude extract,PSP was purified via ultrafiltration,Bio-Gel P-2 column chromatography and Bio-Rex 70 column chromatography, and a purified toxin with amount of 2 100 MU was obtained. The result of chromatography showed the toxin mainly contained gonyautoxin group (GTX1-4). HPLC analysis showed that all of the peaks is very sharp and clear,in which the ratio of GTX1,GTX2,GTX3 and GTX4 was 2∶4∶14∶1 (calculated as the ratio of peak area on HPLC),indicating that GTX3 is the major PSP composition in the poisoned scallop sample, and the purified toxin is available using as a standard for HPLC analysis. From the results of experiments, the technique for preparing PSP standard is effective and successful. In the other hand, the stability of the purified toxin was discussed, through comparing the HPLC analysis between the native toxin and that of the one treated with 0.1 mol/L HCl.

الوصف: A new method of hydrolytic acidification-sequencing batch reactor (SBR) process in aquatic products processing wastewater treatment is given. In the stage of the pretreatment, the hydrolysis-acidification technology was adopted, it is effective to improve the biodegradability of the wastewater. The SBR method was used in the stage of biochemical treatment. The experimental results show that the quality of aquatic products processing wastewater can attain to the national requirements of the first grade of integrated wastewater discharge standard (GB 8978 - 1996). When wastewater temperature was 20°C, HRT was over 6 h and influent COD, BOD5 and SS was 1100–1650 mg/L, 500–750 mg/L and 250–400 mg/L respectively, with more 95%, 96% and 92% of average removal rate respectively, the average effluent COD, BOD5 and SS was 55.5 mg/L, 19.8 mg/L and 20.0 mg/L. The largest organic loading was 4.1 kg COD/m3 d. The BOD5/COD value of aquatic product processing wastewater can be raised from 0.50 to 0.64 via hydrolytic acidification treatment.
