الوصف: Greenhouses offer controlled microclimates that enable year-round cultivation, improving food security and agricultural productivity. However, greenhouses are energy-intensive, with heating accounting for a significant portion of the associated costs. This study explores optimal microgrid configurations, economic viability, and policy recommendations for sustainable greenhouse agriculture in Nigeria. An in-depth energy assessment of a reference greenhouse in a South Korean facility is conducted. Distinct climatic differences between South Korea and Nigeria are highlighted, emphasizing the need for tailored greenhouse designs and energy solutions. Shifting focus to Nigeria, this study investigates the feasibility of hybrid renewable energy systems with a focus on wind and solar power across six geopolitical zones in Nigeria. The analysis encompasses technical, economic, and policy aspects, providing a holistic perspective on renewable energy adoption. Notably, the study uses an advanced optimization model, Teaching and Learning–Based Optimization algorithm, to assess the net present cost and baseload supply reliability, offering valuable insights for investors and policymakers. The result indicates diverse energy requirements across Nigeria, with total monthly peak energy demands ranging from 5374.80 kWh in the Southeast to 17,115.76 kWh in the Northwest, and a notable variation in the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE), with the lowest at $0.07327 in Kano. Specifically, in Ogun, the net present cost for the WT-PV-ESS system stood at $520,935.45, while the PV-ESS system cost was substantially lower at $500,444.41. This confirms the effectiveness of location-specific analysis and shows the suitability of photovoltaic–battery energy storage systems for Nigeria's diverse regions, with unique considerations for specific areas. Policy recommendations, including feed-in tariffs, renewable portfolio standards, net metering, research support, and market development, provide a holistic framework for the adoption of renewable energy and sustainable agriculture. Improving infrastructure, market access, and financing for smallholder farmers is integral for improving food security and standards of living in rural Nigeria. In conclusion, Nigeria can leverage renewable resources to revolutionize its energy and agriculture sectors, setting an example for a sustainable and resilient future.

الوصف: To make mobile robot move considerately, an adaptive motion control method integrated potential field method is proposed. Risk map is firstly defined to show the magnitude of risks in the empty spaces around objects, then the considerate path is generated based on based on risk map. The robot is controlled by using integrated potential field method. The robot can automatically move with a considerate path to avoid disturbing others without make multiple moving rules, and areas with medium level risk are still passable, when there is no better choice. Besides, the robot will still make the users feel conformable by using effective interactions, like moving slowly to make sure safety or warning the users by sound. By comparing the experimental results with those controlled by conventional potential field method, the proposed method can control the robot move more adaptively and considerately with appropriate interactions.

الوصف: Guide mobile robot have been researched and developed for decades. However, current robot cannot guide the user to the destination considerately, since the status of the user and the properties of the obstacles are not considered, especially for the guiding work of servicing visually impaired people. In this paper, a guide mobile robot with an easy-to-hold handle is designed, a generation method of spatial risk map is proposed to evaluate the influences of potential spaces of objects and a motion control method based on spatial risk map considering potential occupied spaces of objects is proposed. The users are successfully guided to the destination naturally without influencing other pedestrians by avoiding entering the potential spaces of objects automatically, and they can adjust their moving status in their own will since the considerate robot can adaptively adjust its guide status to adapt to the user. Through comparing guiding experiments of different tasks for 10 blindfolded users, the proposed guide mobile robot is proven considerate by guiding the users adaptively and make other pedestrians feel comfortable by avoiding entering the potential spaces of objects automatically.

الوصف: Various vestibuloplasty techniques have been reported to increase the attached mucosa (AM) and vestibular depth around dental implants. However, these surgical methods have disadvantages, such as limitations in manipulation, necessity of suturing, postoperative discomfort, swelling, and pain. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of laser-assisted periosteal fenestration (LA-PF) in treating patients with a shallow vestibule and insufficient AM around dental implants. LA-PF was performed using an Erbium YAG laser (Er:YAG laser). First, a partial-thickness, apically positioned flap was used. A horizontal periosteal fenestration was performed using an Er:YAG laser to expose the bones. Periosteal suturing was not required. After 12 months, sufficient AM and deep vestibules were obtained and maintained. Thus, the LA-PF technique may be a simple and predictable treatment modality for shallow vestibules with insufficient AM around dental implants.

الوصف: Leaf senescence, the last stage of leaf development, is essential for whole-plant fitness as it marks the relocation of nutrients from senescing leaves to reproductive or other developing organs. Temporally coordinated physiological and functional changes along leaf aging are fine-tuned by a highly regulated genetic program involving multi-layered regulatory mechanisms. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are newly emerging as hidden players in many biological processes; however, their contribution to leaf senescence has been largely unknown. Here, we performed comprehensive analyses of RNA-seq data representing all developmental stages of leaves to determine the genome-wide lncRNA landscape along leaf aging. A total of 771 lncRNAs, including 232 unannotated lncRNAs, were identified. Time-course analysis revealed 446 among 771 developmental age-related lncRNAs (AR-lncRNAs). Intriguingly, the expression of AR-lncRNAs was regulated more dynamically in senescing leaves than in growing leaves, revealing the relevant contribution of these lncRNAs to leaf senescence. Further analyses enabled us to infer the function of lncRNAs, based on their interacting miRNA or mRNA partners. We considered functionally diverse lncRNAs including antisense lncRNAs (which regulate overlapping protein-coding genes), competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs; which regulate paired mRNAs using miRNAs as anchors), and mRNA-interacting lncRNAs (which affect the stability of mRNAs). Furthermore, we experimentally validated the senescence regulatory function of three novel AR-lncRNAs including one antisense lncRNA and two mRNA-interacting lncRNAs through molecular and phenotypic analyses. Our study provides a valuable resource of AR-lncRNAs and potential regulatory networks that link the function of coding mRNA and AR-lncRNAs. Together, our results reveal AR-lncRNAs as important elements in the leaf senescence process.
