The damage to structural RC elements of a column, beam, slab, wall, and connection details, is presented in the paper. Although RC elements are generally considered to be fire resistant, their physical and mechanical characteristics are greatly influenced by temperature, while the bearing capacity before and after fire can be determined through a number of different methods that are presented in the paper. An overview of condition assessment for RC structures after fire is proposed, and methodology for taking further action is presented.

    الوصف: U radu se analizira šest različitih primjera lameliranih grednih drvenih nosača kojima su dimenzije određene za najveća ista opterećenja na rasponu od 24 m. Cilj analiza bio je određivanje složenog polja naprezanja koja se javljaju u grednim drvenim lijepljenim lameliranim nosačima u ovisnosti o obliku. Oblik bitno utječe na stanje naprezanja u nosačima te stoga ove analize ukazuju na činjenicu njihova povoljnog oblikovanja. Drugi je cilj istraživanja bio sa što manje materijala svladati određeni raspon i tako izvesti jeftiniju konstrukciju.

    الوصف: A joint with a large diameter fastener for connecting large span truss girder nodes is presented in the paper. The joint strength and slip modulus were analysed by means of experimental testing and the finite element method. The experimental testing was conducted on four truss girders with the proposed joint. The nonlinear truss girder model analysis, was conducted using the Abaqus/CAE software with the UMAT subroutine. The results obtained and analysed according to EN 21512, show that the proposed joint has a large strength and slip modulus, and that it can be used for large-span truss girders. The results also show that the equation for embedding compression strength according to EC5 should be modified.

    الوصف: This paper presents the analyses of 6 different models of glulam (glued laminated) timber girders whose dimensions are determined for the same maximal stresses on a 24-metre span. The goal is to determine a complex area of stresses that occur in the timber girders depending on their form. The form considerably affects the stresses in the girders. The analyses therefore highlight the importance of an appropriate design. Another goal of this research is to minimize the quantity of the materials needed to control a particular span resulting in a cheaper structure. ; U radu se analizira šest različitih primjera lameliranih grednih drvenih nosača kojima su dimenzije određene za najveća ista opterećenja na rasponu od 24 m.     الوصف: Nowadays, composite structures based on wood are frequently used. In civil engineering, mostly timber-concrete composite structures are used, particularly in reconstruction of old timber girder floor structures or manufacture of new ones at the reconstruction of old buildings in areas exposed to frequent earthquakes. In new buildings it is mainly glued laminated timber or lumber, while in reconstruction square timber is used. A timber beam is coupled with a concrete slab made either of conventional or a lightweight concrete. Best results are achieved by coupling timber with lightweight aggregate concrete that has all the properties similar to the timber except for its strength that is much higher and comparable to that of conventional concrete. This paper analyzes a composite timber-lightweight aggregate concrete structure. The basic girder is a T-cross section, with the web made of glulam, and flange made of lightweight concrete with expanded clay aggregate (Liapor). The two materials are coupled by means of mechanical fasteners, allowing joint action of the composite section. Quality of coupling has been determined by experimental tests carried out at the Laboratory of the Technical Mechanics Institute, Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb. Finite element method was used for modelling of composite structures using ABAQUS software. The aim of this study was to determine the advantages of using timber-lightweight aggregate concrete composite structure, compared to solutions in which timber-conventional concrete composite structure or reinforced concrete slab are used.

    الوصف: The research deals with a 49.0 mm in diameter mechanical fastener to which load perpendicular to grain is applied. The experimental research was divided in two series: the first series was carried out with locally reinforced, and the second with non-reinforced timber specimens. The local reinforcement of timber elements with textile sheets between lamellas in a layer of adhesive was made in the production process. Furthermore, research on finite element models using Abaqus/CEA software package was carried out. UMAT subroutine and cohesive contact between surfaces were used for modelling complex timber mechanical properties and cracks opening. The research results have shown that glass fiber textile placed between lamellas in adhesive layer effectively increases the resistance and splitting capacity of timber joint. Analytical approach has been proposed for predicting the splitting capacity of the reinforced joint.

    الوصف: Opisan je projekt nadstrešne konstrukcije koja je prvotno bila zamišljena kao čelična konstrukcija, a potom je izmijenjena. Izmjene se odnose na zamjenu prečke okvira hibridnim sustavom i uvođenje lameliranog drva u dio konstrukcije. Prikazani su detaljni proračuni i numerički modeli izvedeni programskim podrškama STAAD i COSMOSM. Izvedena konstrukcija prema numeričkim analizama prikazanim u ovom radu daleko je povoljnija, racionalnija i elegantnija, od prvotno projektirane.
    Design of a shed structure, initially conceived as a steel structure, and subsequently modified, is described. The modifications concern replacement of the frame cross beam by a hybrid system, and introduction of laminated wood into a part of the structure. Detailed analyses and numerical models derived by means of the STAAD and COSMOSM software are presented. The structure derived according to numerical analyses presented in this paper is much more favourable, rational and elegant, when compared with the initially designed structure.
