    الوصف: BackgroundNeuropsychiatric fluctuations (NpsyF) are frequent and disabling in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD). In OFF-medication, NpsyF entail minus neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) like anxiety, apathy, sadness, and fatigue. In ON-medication, NpsyF consist in plus NPS, such as high mood, hypomania, and hyperactivity. Accurate identification of these NpsyF is essential to optimize the overall PD management. Due to lack of punctual scales, the neuropsychiatric fluctuation scale (NFS) has been recently designed to assess NpsyF in real time. The NFS comprises 20 items with two subscores for plus and minus NPS, and a total score.ObjectiveTo evaluate the psychometric properties of the NFS in PD.MethodsPD patients with motor fluctuations and healthy controls (HC) were assessed. In PD patients, the NFS was administrated in both the ON-and OFF-medication conditions, together with the movement disorders society-unified Parkinson disease rating scale parts I–IV. Depression (Beck depression scale II), apathy (Starkstein apathy scale) and non-motor fluctuations items of the Ardouin scale of behaviour in PD (ASBPD OFF and ON items) were also assessed. NFS internal structure was evaluated with principal component analysis consistency (PCA) in both medication conditions in PD patients and before emotional induction in HC. NFS internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. NFS convergent and divergent validity was measured through correlations with BDI-II, Starktein, and ASBPD OFF and ON non motor items. Specificity was assessed comparing NFS global score between the HC and PD populations. Sensitivity was evaluated with t-student test comparing the ON-and the OFF-medication conditions for NFS global score and for minus and plus subscores.ResultsIn total, 101 consecutive PD patients and 181 HC were included. In PD patients and HC, PCA highlighted one component that explained 32–35 and 42% of the variance, respectively. Internal consistency was good for both the NFS-plus (alpha =0.88) and NFS-minus items (alpha =0.8). The NFS showed a good specifity for PD (p < 0.0001) and a good sensitivity to the medication condition (p < 0.0001).ConclusionThe satisfactory properties of the NFS support its use to assess acute neuropsychiatric fluctuations in PD patients, adding to available tools.

    الوصف: IntroductionThe emerging adult stage of life is a time of many positive changes, as well as stress and uncertainty. Certain psychological characteristics - such as emotional regulation, attachment style, or assertiveness – could help these adults thrive and maintain positive mental health. This study aimed to explore the influence of these variables on the well-being of emerging adults.MethodsThe sample included 360 French emerging adults, with a mean age of 21.3 years. Well-being was assessed with the Mental Health Continuum, emotional regulation with the Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale, assertiveness with the Assertiveness Scale, and attachment styles with the Relationship Scales Questionnaire.ResultsResults showed that judgment toward one’s own emotional experience and shyness (as part of assertiveness) predicted emerging adults’ well-being. This study also highlighted the role of substance use and experiences of violence on emerging adults’ emotional regulation and well-being.DiscussionResults support the importance of in-person and distance education and prevention to support emerging adults’ well-being, especially in higher education institutions and in times of the COVID pandemic.

    الوصف: The principal objective of this study is to provide data on the French version of the SCARED-R. This article investigates the factor structure of the French version of the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders-Revised (SCARED-R) and its convergent and divergent validity. 704 normal adolescents aged 10 to 19 years completed the questionnaires in their classrooms. A sub-sample of 595 adolescents also completed an anxiety questionnaire (the French version of the Fear Survey Schedule for Children-Revised, FSSC-R) and a depression questionnaire (the French version of the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, CES-D). Confirmatory factor analysis of the SCARED-R suggested reasonable fit for the 9-factor model. The comparison of the convergent and divergent validity revealed that the SCARED-R total score and five SCARED-R subscales (SAD, Social Phobia and the three Specific Phobias) correlated more strongly with anxiety than depression. The other SCARED-R subscales (GAD, Panic Disorder, OCD and PTSD) are positively related to levels of anxiety and depression. Altogether, the French version of the SCARED-R showed reasonable psychometric properties.

    الوصف: The structured Repeated Action Diary (RAD) collects in vivo data on compulsions and their various characteristics. Certain compulsions (i.e., those ending because the patient feels certain that it is safe to stop) are then compared with uncertain compulsions. The compulsion profile in patients with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) was assessed by using the RAD. Thirty-two patients from two sources participated in the study. Before pooling the two subgroups, we checked that they did not differ significantly with regard to demographic and clinical variables. Patients reported several categories of compulsion. The most frequently reported compulsions were washing and checking. In a given person, checking compulsions (in contrast to washing compulsions) were often produced by several different obsessions. Almost all the patients reported repeating the compulsions because of a need to feel sure. There were far more "certain" compulsions than "uncertain" compulsions. The number of repetitions was significantly lower for certain compulsions than for uncertain compulsions. The person felt greater relief from guilt and responsibility and a greater decrease in discomfort at the end of a compulsive episode for certain compulsions than for uncertain compulsions. In conclusion, the need to ritualize (prompted by uncertainty, i.e., potential danger) might explain the maintenance (or posttreatment recurrence) of OCD in many patients. The need for certainty in the completion of a compulsion may be worth considering as a therapeutic tool. The development of an approach based on the need for certainty might help to improve treatment outcomes.

    الوصف: Abstract. This article examines the internal validity of the French version of the Big Five Questionnaire for Children (BFQ-C). We first performed confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) to determine the fit of the factor structure identified in previous research on the BFQ-C and then used exploratory factor analyses. A sample of 399 children (192 boys and 207 girls) recruited from elementary schools completed the BFQ-C in their classrooms. Participants were 8 to 12 years old with a mean age of 9.58 years (SD = 0.98). The results indicated poor goodness-of-fit statistics for the CFA solution. Exploratory factor analysis improved the model fit markedly over conventional CFA. The factor structure of the French version of the BFQ-C suggested reasonable fit for the five intercorrelated factors corresponding to the Big Five with the exploratory factor analyses, even if the fifth factor appeared to be more problematic than the other 4 factors.

    الوصف: Resume Contexte Le refus scolaire anxieux (RSA) est une pathologie severe appartenant au spectre des troubles anxieux et un motif frequent de consultations en milieu hospitalier. L’effet des TCC dont les benefices sont pourtant mis en avant dans le traitement des troubles anxieux, n’est pas etudie dans le RSA. Methode Etudier l’efficacite d’un programme multidisciplinaire de TCC dans un groupe de 28 adolescents beneficiant d’une hospitalisation de jour. Vingt-sept patients sur 28 ont reintegre le milieu scolaire, apres un delai moyen de 18,9 (SD = 5) semaines de prise en charge. L’effet du programme est estime au travers de mesures effectuees avant/apres hospitalisation : delai de reintegration scolaire, fonctionnement global, severite et evolution clinique (echelles C-GAS et CGI), et symptomatologie anxieuse (echelles FSSC-R, STAIC, RC-MAS, MASC et ECAP). Resultats Les scores aux echelles d’anxiete ont diminue significativement (p Conclusion Le programme TCC apparait comme un traitement efficace du RSA. Des etudes mieux controlees, effectuees en aveugle sur des effectifs plus importants devront confirmer ces resultats en s’interessant egalement au maintien des benefices a long terme.

    الوصف: Introduction Self-discrepancies (the distances between the perceived self and the ideal or the socially prescribed selves) are a hallmark in psychological distress. However, a clinical tool evaluating these discrepancies is lacking. Objective To investigate the validity, the psychometric characteristics and the clinical relevance of the Self-Discrepancy Scale, an instrument designed to assess with multiple indices discrepancies between mental representations of the self: the actual self, on the one hand and ideal or socially-prescribed selves, on the other hand. Method The Self-Discrepancy Scale has been administered to a large community sample, together with measures of depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and self-efficacy. It was also proposed to an additional clinical sample composed of clients with a diagnosis of mood or anxiety disorders seeking psychotherapeutic help. Results A factor analysis evidenced three underlying dimensions to self-discrepancies: the size of the discrepancies, the resulting distress and the presence to unwanted traits. Test-retest consistency is in the acceptable range. Different profiles of self-discrepancies distinguished clinical groups suffering from different disorders. Conclusions The data suggest that the Self-Discrepancy Scale is a valid measure of self-discrepancies and a valuable predictor of emotional vulnerability, especially with regards to abstract global judgments of discrepancies and of discrepancy induced distress. It is concluded that the Self-Discrepancy Scale offers a valuable help in clinical settings.

    الوصف: The purpose was to assess the psychometric properties of the French version of the Young Schema Questionnaire - Short Form 3 (YSQ–S3). The main non-clinical sample (N = 605, M = 20.63, 78% women) was divided into two subsamples: One was used for exploratory factor analyses (EFA) and the other was used for confirmatory analyses. Next, internal consistency, convergent validity and criterion-related validity were studied. The EFA to each of the five domains was similar to the theoretical structure postulated by Young. The confirmatory analysis of each of the five domains appeared to favor our solution over a single-factor solution and Young’s solution. The confirmatory factor analyses of high-order structures did not give fully satisfactory results but appeared to favor our solution (RMSEA =.11, CFI =.76, TLI =.71, SRMR =.07, AIC = 58,566.44). In our best model, the reliability (> .70) was satisfactory for fourteen schemas. The relationships between the schemas and the neuroticism, extraversion and psychoticism scores went in the expected directions. Detrimental parental rearing behaviors were linked to high scores for the various schemas. Lastly, 4 schemas differentiated between the clinical and non-clinical groups. In conclusion, the overall psychometric qualities of the French version of the YSQ–S3 allow its use in clinical populations.
