    مستخلص: In gas gun experiments, a graded density impactor (GDI) is used to achieve quasi-isentropic loading. However, inconsistency between the designed and experimental loading profiles, mainly caused by by-products during preparation, limits the application of GDI for a long time. In this work, a kind of W/Ti GDI with advantages of a wide density range of 4.5–19.3 g/cm3 and high structural designability was designed and synthesized. Each of mid-layers of the W/Ti GDI was composed of W and Ti without the formation of an intermetallic compound, and had good parallelism and flatness. This provides a prerequisite for good agreement between the designed and experimental loading profiles. Due to the high designability of the GDI, quasi-isentropic loading with different stress-paths was achieved by controlling the structure of the GDI. Then, independently controlling peak stress and strain rates of loading was successfully achieved by changing the flyer velocity and the type of the W/Ti GDI. The W/Ti GDI has enormous application potential in studying the dynamic response of materials under quasi-isentropic loading with stress and strain rate controlled. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

    الوصف: Despite numerous reports indicating the significant impact of RNA modification on malignant glioblastoma (GBM) cell behaviors such as proliferation, invasion and therapy efficacy, its specific involvement in glioblastoma (GBM) angiogenesis is remains unclear and is currently under investigation. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relevance between RNA modification regulators and GBM angiogenesis. Our study employed bioinformatic analyses, including Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA), differential expression analysis, and Kaplan–Meier survival analysis, to identify regulators of angiogenesis-associated RNA modification (RM). Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were applied to identify the enrichment of angiogenesis associated signatures in ALKBH5-high expression GBMs. We also utilized Western blot to verify the upregulation of ALKBH5 in clinical GBM samples. By a series of in vitro and in vivo assays, including plasmid transfection, wound healing, transwell invasion test, tube formation, RT-qPCR, ELISA assays and xenograft mice model, we validated the angiogenesis regulation ability of ALKBH5 in GBM. The N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification “erase” ALKBH5 emerged as a candidate regulator associated with angiogenesis, demonstrating elevated expression and robust prognostic predictive ability in GBM patients. We also revealed enrichment of vasculature development biological process in GBMs with high ALKBH5 expression. Subsequently, we validated the elevated the expression of ALKBH5 in clinical GBM and paired adjacent tissues through western blot. Additionally, we knocked down the expression of ALKBH5 using sh-RNAs in U87 GBM cells to access the angiogenesis induction ability in U87 cells. In vitro experiments, Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs) were used to perform wound healing, transwell migration and tube formation analysis, results indicated that ALKBH5 knock-down of U87 cells could decrease the pro-angiogenesis ability of U87 GBM cells. ...

    مستخلص: Quasi-isentropic loading and unloading, employing graded density impactors (GDIs) as flyers in gas gun-driven plate impact experiments, can provide novel and valuable insights into the equation of state and strength properties of the loaded material. However, the internal ballistic process may lead to spalling or debonding of the GDI due to the intricate interactions between stress waves and interfaces. In this study, the wave propagation in the GDI was analyzed using the multimaterial Lagrangian elastic-plastic model and elastic wave propagation theory. The impact of gradient direction, power-law constant p, and thickness of the first and last layers on the tensile stress was investigated. The outcomes reveal that the mechanism of generating tensile stress varies for two gradient directions. Moreover, adjusting the constant p and the layer thickness may decrease the maximum tensile stress by 74.1% (forward graded) and 95.8% (reverse graded), respectively. The outcomes of this research provide a theoretical and simulation basis for designing and fabricating GDIs to be utilized in quasi-isentropic experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

    الوصف: Objective To investigate the association between dietary pattern and hyperuricemia (HUA) in middle-aged and elderly residents. Methods From January 2009 to December 2012, the stratified sampling method was used to select 3 349 middle-aged and elderly residents aged 45-74 years in Qingdao, China, and a questionnaire survey (demographic information, personal medical history, behavioral habits, and food intake), physical examination, and biochemical tests were performed for all residents. The factor analysis was used to identify dietary pattern, the non-conditional logistic regression analysis was used to investigate the association between dietary pattern and HUA, and the restricted cubic spline model was used to analyze the dose-response relationship between dietary pattern factor scores and HUA. Results The factor analysis obtained three dietary patterns, i.e., Offal-Poultry-Aquatic pattern, Fruits and Vegetables-Grain-Beans pattern, and Eggs-Meat-Dairy pattern. The non-conditional Logistic regression analysis showed that after adjustment for the confounding factors including age, sex, body mass index, drinking, exercise, hypertension, and dyslipidemia; the highest tertile of the Offal-Poultry-Aquatic pattern was positively associated with the risk of HUA (OR=1.32,95%CI=1.02-1.70), and the highest tertile of the Fruits and Vegetables-Grain-Beans pattern was ne-gatively associated with the risk of HUA (OR=0.74,95%CI=0.58-0.95), while the Eggs-Meat-Dairy pattern was not significantly associated with the risk of HUA. The restricted cubic spline model showed a linear dose-response relationship between Offal-Poultry-Aquatic pattern/Eggs-Meat-Dairy pattern and the prevalence rate of HUA and a non-linear dose-response relationship between Fruits and Vegetables-Grain-Beans pattern and the prevalence rate of HUA. The lowest risk of HUA was observed when the Fruits and Vegetables-Grain-Beans pattern had a score of 0.833 (OR=0.72,95%CI=0.56-0.92). Conclusion The Offal-Poultry-Aquatic pattern is positively associated with the risk of HUA in middle-aged and elderly residents, while the Fruits and Vegetables-Grain-Beans pattern is negatively associated with the risk of HUA. The middle-aged and elderly residents, especially those with HUA, should have a reasonable and balanced diet.

    الوصف: Photocatalytic production of H 2 O 2 by polymeric carbon nitride has been regarded as a promising approach for the conversion of solar energy into valuable chemicals. However, the efficiency of pristine carbon nitride is limited by the rapid charge recombination and the lack of suitable active sites. Herein, we introduce single-atom Cu anchored on N-doped graphene (Cu-NG) as a cocatalyst coupled with carbon nitride via covalent bonding to enhance photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production. The Cu-NG/carbon nitride could broaden the light absorption from UV to near-infrared region, contributing to the photocatalytic process. Moreover, NG containing electron-rich N atoms could serve as anchoring sites for stabilizing single-atom Cu. Importantly, the single-atom Cu acts not only as an electron sink to steer the interfacial charge separation but also as an active site for molecular oxygen adsorption and activation. With the synergistic effect of the enhanced interfacial charge separation and suitable active sites, Cu-NG/carbon nitride exhibits improved photocatalytic performance with an H 2 O 2 generation rate of 2856 µmol g −1 h −1 , which is 2.6 times that of pristine carbon nitride. This work provides a protocol for high-performance photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production using a single-atom cocatalyst.
