    الوصف: Line pattern replication process through nanoimprint lithography (NIL) method has been used in numerous of research fields. NIL technology is not yet utilized for displays industry, and we propose an alignment layer of the sol-gel process using NIL. One-dimensionally nanopatterned by polydimethylsiloxane sheets cause surface changes in hybrid SnGaO thin films mixed in a 3:7 ratio, which aligns the liquid crystals (LCs) uniformly in the line pattern direction. These surface changes are confirmed through atomic force microscopy data analysis, and changes in surface shapes for different the curing temperatures in the furnace are analyzed. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows that the chemical composition of the thin films changes according to curing temperatures, and the intensities of SnO and GaO increase exponentially at 200 °C compared to those at 50 °C. Through this, the van der Waals force increases between surface molecules, in the anisotropic direction to help align the LCs. Furthermore, we performed polarized optical microscopy and pre-tilt angle analysis confirm that the LCs are energized uniformly. Finally, the performance of an actual display device transmittance and electro-optical properties; the transmittance of SnGaO is 4.51p% higher than that of the currently commercialized PI-rubbing, and the voltage-transmittance curve is a perfect graph.

    الوصف: Abstract Paju City is located in the northwest of Gyeonggi-do, and its chemical emissions in 2020 were 1,287,917 kg, the 4th highest in Gyeonggi-do. In particular, the Munsan High-Tech Industrial Complex in Paju has LCD manufacturing plants and partner companies distributed in groups, and the volatile organic compounds used by these companies are causing many problems, such as causing bad odors, to the local community. In this sense, real-time analyzing equipment (proton-transfer-reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometry) was mounted on a vehicle for this study to look into the air quality around VOCs-using companies inside the High-tech Industrial Complex in Munsan, Paju from October 19 to October 21, 2020. According to measurement results, toluene was detected the most at 25.7 ppb, followed by carbon tetrachloride (17.6 ppb), ethylbenzene (17.2 ppb), and xylene (8.5 ppb), which demonstrates that there is a need to control these substances to resolve the issue with VOCs in the region. In particular, benzene designated as the air quality standard was detected at 1.0 ppb in some sites, which is below the threshold (1.5 ppb). However, it was detected at 2.1 to 4.4 ppb, exceeding the threshold in most sites. Thus, continuous monitoring is expected to keep VOCs under control in Paju Industrial Complex down the road, using real-time measuring equipment.

    الوصف: This paper extends previous work on liquid-crystal-display-based angle-of-arrival (AoA) estimation, initially performed for only a single light source (LS), by considering scenarios with multiple LSs. First, the system model is revisited to investigate parameters that influence detection of multiple LSs. Next, challenges such as separation of co-located LSs and ambiguities are investigated. It is identified that target separation gets increasingly challenging with decreasing distance between LSs, and AoA estimation developed for a single LS leads to ambiguities in scenarios with multiple LSs. These problems are solved by a novel angular separation algorithm and dedicated intensity measurements. Finally, two new experimental setups are introduced to investigate and model optical diffraction effects, and to verify theoretical derivations by measurement results.

    الوصف: Introduction: Bone defects remain a thorny challenge that clinicians have to face. At present, scaffolds prepared by 3D printing are increasingly used in the field of bone tissue repair. Polylactic acid (PLA) has good thermoplasticity, processability, biocompatibility, and biodegradability, but the PLA is brittle and has poor osteogenic performance. Beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) has good mechanical properties and osteogenic induction properties, which can make up for the drawbacks of PLA.Methods: In this study, photocurable biodegradable polylactic acid (bio-PLA) was utilized as the raw material to prepare PLA/β-TCP slurries with varying β-TCP contents (β-TCP dosage at 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 35% of the PLA dosage, respectively). The PLA/β-TCP scaffolds were fabricated using liquid crystal display (LCD) light-curing 3D printing technology. The characterization of the scaffolds was assessed, and the biological activity of the scaffold with the optimal compressive strength was evaluated. The biocompatibility of the scaffold was assessed through CCK-8 assays, hemocompatibility assay and live-dead staining experiments. The osteogenic differentiation capacity of the scaffold on MC3T3-E1 cells was evaluated through alizarin red staining, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) detection, immunofluorescence experiments, and RT-qPCR assays.Results: The prepared scaffold possesses a three-dimensional network structure, and with an increase in the quantity of β-TCP, more β-TCP particles adhere to the scaffold surface. The compressive strength of PLA/β-TCP scaffolds exhibits a trend of initial increase followed by decrease with an increasing amount of β-TCP, reaching a maximum value of 52.1 MPa at a 10% β-TCP content. Degradation rate curve results indicate that with the passage of time, the degradation rate of the scaffold gradually increases, and the pH of the scaffold during degradation shows an alkaline tendency. Additionally, Live/dead staining and blood compatibility experiments suggest that the prepared PLA/β-TCP scaffold demonstrates excellent biocompatibility. CCK-8 experiments indicate that the PLA/β-TCP group promotes cell proliferation, and the prepared PLA/β-TCP scaffold exhibits a significant ability to enhance the osteogenic differentiation of MC3T3-E1 cells in vitro.Discussion: 3D printed LCD photocuring PLA/β-TCP scaffolds could improve surface bioactivity and lead to better osteogenesis, which may provide a unique strategy for developing bioactive implants in orthopedic applications.
