    الوصف: Management rights over emergent land on the banks of the Batanghari River Watershed in Penyengat Rendah District, Jambi City have been practiced by the local community for generations without formal ownership as of this study. This article examines the legality of land tenure under Indonesian law and the rights to manage land emerging along the Batanghari riverbanks, aiming to advise the local government on the crucial need for legal recognition of these rights. Utilizing an empirical research method involving direct community engagement, the study finds that community management of this land is driven by longstanding residency and utilization, the scarcity of available land for agriculture in Jambi City supporting the local economy, high land prices, and historical reliance on riverbank land use. Despite continuous management, these activities lack permanent legal status as outlined in Article 16, Paragraph (1) of the Basic Agrarian Law.

    الوصف: Vehicle tracking devices play an important role in tracking and monitoring vehicles in specific locations. Due to the frequent occurrence of motorized vehicle theft among the public, it is necessary to design a vehicle tracking device with the following specifications: i) capable of tracking vehicle coordinates, ii) able to remotely disable vehicle access using a cellular phone, and iii) equipped with sensitive handbrakes. This device operates by tracking the vehicle coordinates using the Neo 6M GPS module. The provision of tracking data information for vehicle monitoring is carried out by the SIM 800L module, which utilizes the Indosat network operator through cellular communication. The vehicle tracking data is processed by the IC ATMega 328p microcontroller. The research results indicate that the tracking of vehicle presence, vehicle access disabling, and sensitive handbrakes work optimally with an accuracy value of 93.89%. In other words, testing on the device shows that it functions well according to the expected performance and holds potential for further development in the future.

    الوصف: Blockchain (BC) in healthcare can be used for sharing medical records and secure storage and other confidential data. Deep learning (DL) assists in disease recognition through image analysis, specifically in detecting medical conditions from images. Image encryption ensures the security and privacy of medical images by encrypting the image before sharing or storage. The combination of image encryption, BC, and DL provides an efficient and secure system for medical image analysis and disease detection in healthcare. Therefore, we designed a new BC with an Image Encryption-based Optimal DL for Secure Disease Detection and Classification (BIEODL-SDDC) technique. The presented BIEODL-SDDC technique enables the secure sharing of medical images via encryption and BC technology with a DL-based disease classification process. Furthermore, the medical image encryption process took place using the ElGamal Encryption technique with a giraffe kicking optimization (GKO) algorithm-based key generation process. In addition, BC-based smart contracts (SCs) were used for the secure sharing of medical images. For the disease detection process, the BIEODL-SDDC technique encompassed EfficientNet-B7-CBAM-based feature extraction, Adam optimizer, and a fully connected neural network (FCNN). The experimental validation of the BIEODL-SDDC technique was tested on medical image datasets and the outcome highlighted an enhanced accuracy outcome of 94.81% over other techniques.

    الوصف: The thoughts of KH. MA. Sahal Mahfudh in his fiqh sosial reflects anti-corruption values that are relevant to the main function of humans as Khalifatullah. This function implies two main tasks, namely Ibadatullah and Imaratul Ardh. This research aims to explore anti-corruption values in Kiai Sahal's thinking and its dissemination at the Mathali'ul Falah Pati Islamic Boarding School. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection through documentation, interviews, and observation. Interpretative analysis was used to explain Kiai Sahal's thoughts on anti-corruption values. The results showed that the thoughts of KH. MA. Sahal Mahfudh's contain anti-corruption values. Values such as ikhtiar, tawakal, honesty, transparency, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, character, and integrity become the foundation in preventing corruption. At Institut Pesantren Mathali'ul Falah, these values are disseminated through anti-corruption policies and integrated in Shalih Akram's Basic Values (NDSA), such as al-Amanah, i'itimad ala nafsi, al kifah mudawamah, tawasuth, zuhud, istiqomah, and al-barakah. The academic community is expected to have an anti-corruption character that is reflected in the curriculum and courses of Pancasila Education and Anti-Corruption, Shalih Akram’s Basic Values (NDSA), and Social Jurisprudence.

    الوصف: Abstract Background The increased number of emergency department visits among older adults living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease reflects the challenges of hospital discharge transition, especially in those from a cultural minority. The barriers and facilitators of this discharge from the perspective of formal and informal care providers, such as nurses and family caregivers, are important to identify to provide effective symptom management and quality of care. The purpose of this study was to describe the barriers and facilitators in caring for Muslim older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) during hospital discharge transitional care. Methods A descriptive qualitative study was conducted in a hospital of Thailand where Muslim people are a cultural minority. Thirteen family caregivers of Muslim older adults living with COPD and seven nurses were purposively recruited and participated in semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Results Five barriers and three facilitating factors of transitional care for Muslim older adults living with COPD were outlined. Barriers included: (1) lack of knowledge about the causes and management of dyspnea, (2) inadequate discharge preparation, (3) language barrier, (4) discontinuity of care, and (5) COVID-19 epidemic. Facilitators included: (1) the ability to understand Malayu language, (2) the presence of healthcare professionals of the same gender, and (3) the presence of Muslim healthcare providers. Conclusion Family caregivers require more supportive care to meet the care needs of Muslim older adults living with COPD. Alternative nurse-based transitional care programs for these older adult caregivers should be developed.

    الوصف: The biodiesel synthesis of waste cooking oil (WCO) over a impregnated biochar catalyst was systematically studied. This research aimed to prepare Biochar-based material that comes from coconut coir, activate it, and apply it as a catalyst to the esterification reaction of high-FFA waste cooking oil. Activation of the catalyst was done by impregnation H2SO4 solution in Biochar. The obtained catalyst was characterized by FTIR, XRF, XRD, surface area analyzer, and SEM-EDS. The esterification process was conducted by varying the catalyst weight (5, 7, and 10 wt%) and the reaction temperature (55 and 60 °C). The obtained liquid yields were characterized by GC-MS. The study found that the esterification process worked best with 10 wt% catalysts, a 1:76 mole ratio of oil to alcohol, and a reaction temperature of 60 °C. The waste cooking oil was successfully converted into biodiesel, reaching 84.50% of yield and 77.30% of purity (methyl ester content). Meanwhile, testing using national biodiesel standards with parameter limits of density, viscosity, iodine number, and acid number shows results that meet the requirements.     الوصف: Heavy metals are a crucial group of chemicals extensively used in materials to meet human needs, eventually leading to contamination of aquatic ecosystems and accumulation in organism’s tissues. Heavy metals enter the aquatic ecosystem from various sources. Those metals that pollute aquatic waters are deposited in sediments, remain dissolved in water or accumulate in the food web of aquatic organisms. Benthic biota is believed to accumulate the highest levels of these metals, while other aquatic animals, such as fish, shrimp, and macroalgae, serve as significant sources of heavy metals intake through food and the environmental exposure. Ina study conducted in and around the east Java, Indonesia, the concentration of heavy metals in commercially important fish species, shellfish, and macroalgae were evaluated using an inductive couple plasma-mass spectrometer (ICP-MS). This study is very important because fishery resources are not only vital for exports but also serve as a primary source of essential food for local communities. The results showed that heavy metal concentration (Pb, Cd, and Hg) in samples were 12.3 mg∙dm –3, 0.171 mg∙dm –3, and undetectable, respectively. This study showed that different metals were present in the samples at different levels, all of which fell within the maximum residual levels set by the EU and USFDA. The results of an analysis of food safety based on the Hazard Index showed values below 1 point, indicating that fishery products (fish, shrimp, and macroalgae) from the East Java Province are generally safe for human consumption.

    الوصف: Abstract Background Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), notably cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus, are largely driven by metabolic syndrome (MetS), a cluster of critical risk factors. Despite extensive research, the progression of MetS, especially in Indonesia, has received limited attention. This research tracks adult MetS risk dynamics in a populous Bogor District cohort, providing crucial insights into its evolving nature. Methods This prospective open cohort study analysed secondary data from the Special Research - Cohort Study of Non-Communicable Diseases by the Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia from 2011 to 2018. The final sample was 1,376 Indonesian adult participants, all residents of Bogor District. MetS outcome, dietary assessment, physical activity, and biomarkers were analysed every two consecutive years. Results The risk of overweight and obese participants developing MetS was 2.4 and 4.4 times higher, respectively (95% CI: 1.176–3.320 and 3.345–5.740) than those with body mass index (BMI) in the normal range. Participants who reported less intentional physical exercise had a MetS risk 1.5 times higher (95% CI: 1.034–2.109) than those with more intentional physical exercise. The role of diet is also significant, evidenced by a 30% reduction in MetS risk for people with fat intakes in the 2nd quartile compared to the 1st quartile (95% CI: 0.505–0.972). Meanwhile, a carbohydrate intake in the 2nd quartile increased the risk of MetS 1.5 times (95% CI: 1.063–2.241) in comparison with the 1st quartile. Conclusions Notably, participants with underweight BMI exhibited the highest cumulative survival of MetS, while those with obese BMI recorded the lowest cumulative survival. There is an urgent need for strategic interventions to enhance the existing early detection and NCD monitoring program. This involves a targeted focus on promoting a community-based healthy lifestyle in the Bogor District. The study emphasizes the importance of tailored public health measures to address specific risk factors identified in the local context, aiming to mitigate the prevalence and impact of MetS in the population.

Abstract: Objectives: This research was aimed at investigating the effects of various concentrations of Euphorbia hirta nanoextract as a piezoelectric scaler coolant on gingivitis healing in a Wistar rat model. Methods: A piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler coolant was made from E. hirta nanoextract through ionic gelation. Experiments were conducted in 45 adult male Wistar rats divided into three groups treated with E. hirta nanoextract coolant (25%, 30%, and 35% concentrations), and negative and positive control groups. A silk ligature was used to trap debris and induce gingivitis in the maxillary incisors of the rats. Scaling was conducted with a piezoelectric ultrasonic scaler after the respective treatment for each group. Data were collected on days 3, 5, 7, 14, and 21 after treatment. Observations were collected with an Optilab® camera at 400× magnification. Angiogenesis and neutrophil data were analyzed with two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post hoc Duncan tests at a 95% significance level. Results: Use of E. hirta nanoextract as a piezoelectric ultrasonic coolant accelerated gingivitis healing in Wistar rats, particularly at a 25% concentration.     الوصف: According to mainstream literature, Muslim countries often lag behind in terms of environmental sustainability despite their being fully compliant with global environmental regulations. This raises the question of whether this applies to all aspects of environmental conservation. Therefore, this paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of biodiversity conservation efforts in countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and determine whether a consistent growth trend in biodiversity conservation can be identified. The study employs semi-quantitative and policy-science methods, analysing data from Yale University’s Biodiversity and Habitat Protection Index from 2010 to 2020. The findings show a significant increase in biodiversity conservation performance over the ten-year study period. Interestingly, low-income countries outperformed their wealthier OIC counterparts in terms of biodiversity conservation, despite having the lowest economic development status. This positive trend highlights the effectiveness of essential biodiversity policies and measures adopted in these Muslim countries. Furthermore, these results align with Stern’s approach, which argues that economic expansion can have diverse impacts on environmental quality, leading to the rejection of the Environmental Kuznets Curve hypothesis in the context of biodiversity conservation in Muslim countries. The study emphasises the need for further research into the nature of biodiversity policies among low-income nations. The policy ideas and solutions from these countries can provide valuable insights for combating biodiversity loss within OIC countries and globally, contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Additionally, it has the potential to enhance the capacity of OIC countries in biodiversity conservation and their role in supporting fellow Muslim nations in achieving the SDGs.
