الوصف: Background: Earlier studies have shown that about 90% of accidents in the work settings occur because of unsafe behavior and human errors. If workers do not have the right knowledge, favorable attitude, and proper behavior toward safety measures in a safe workplace, all efforts for an accident-free workplace will be in vain. This study aimed to determine factors associated with unsafe occupational behavior among construction workers in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Subjects and Method: This was a cross sectional study carried out in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. A sample of 200 construction workers were selected at random for this study. The endogenous variables were perceive benefit, favorable attitude, and unsafe occupational behavior. The exogenous was good knowledge. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by a path analysis model. Results: Good knowledge increased perceived benefit (b= 0.25; 95% CI= 0.06 to 0.56; p= 0.038). Perceived benefit increased favorable attitude (b= 0.56; 95% CI= 0.25 to 0.86; p<0.001). Favorable attitude decreased unsafe occupational behavior (b= -0.56; 95% CI= -0.32 to -0.80; p<0.001). Conclusion: Good knowledge, perceived benefit, and favorable attitude, respectively, decrease unsafe behavior among the construction workers in the work settings. Keywords: good knowledge, perceived benefit, favorable attitude, respectively, unsafe behavior, construction workers.

الوصف: Information technology consists of computers to process data, network systems to connect computers, and communication technology for distribution of data for global access. Now, the University of Timor has no information system to manage the data collection of research reports and lecturers' community service. This situation makes the data collection of reports in the LPPM section not yet effective.Data processing at the University of Timor LPPM is still manual, in the form of recording on paper and files on a computer. Even though the data collection already uses a computer, the data stored is irregular and not centralized.Based on the above problems, we created a system to assist the process of data collection of research reports and community service lecturers at the University of Timor LPPM, we used Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.The test results show that after implementing our system at LPPM, the research and service data becomes well organized in one database, it is more effective and efficient in managing data and information about LPPM activities.

الوصف: Summary Eosinophils perform numerous tasks. They are involved in inflammatory reactions associated with innate immune defence against parasitic infections and are also involved in pathological processes in response to allergens. Recently, however, it has become clear that eosinophils also play crucial non-inflammatory roles in the generation and maintenance of adaptive immune responses. Eosinophils, being a major source of the plasma cell survival factor APRIL (activation and proliferation-induced ligand), are essential not only for the long-term survival of plasma cells in the bone marrow, but also for the maintenance of these cells in the lamina propria which underlies the gut epithelium. At steady state under non-inflammatory conditions eosinophils are resident cells of the gastrointestinal tract, although only few are present in the major organized lymphoid tissue of the gut – the Peyer’s patches (PP). Surprisingly, however, lack of eosinophils abolishes efficient class-switching of B cells to immunoglobulin (Ig)A in the germinal centres of PP. Thus, eosinophils are required to generate and to maintain mucosal IgA plasma cells, and as a consequence their absence leads to a marked reduction of IgA both in serum and in the gut-associated lymphoid tissues (GALT). Eosinophils thus have an essential part in long-term humoral immune protection, as they are crucial for the longevity of antibody-producing plasma cells in the bone marrow and, in addition, for gut immune homeostasis.

الوصف: Plasma cells sustain antibody production and hence are an essential part of immune protection. In the mucosa‐associated lymphoid tissues plasma cells secrete IgA antibodies which protect the organism from invasion by pathogenic bacteria while in the bone marrow they produce the antibodies which guarantee long‐term humoral immune protection. The various lymphoid organs provide specific microenvironments which support plasma cell survival. In particular, in the bone marrow, highly specialized survival niches are established by the underlying stromal reticular cells which permit plasma cells to survive for years. In some situations, however, the antibody may be detrimental to the organism. In those auto immune diseases, where plasma cells play a pathological role by producing the auto antibodies, new strategies are needed to interfere with the lifespan of plasma cells and thus to diminish their numbers. The recent finding that eosinophils are essential for the long‐term survival of plasma cells in the bone marrow provides a new therapeutic target to modulate the plasma cell survival niche.
