    مستخلص: Despite high college expectations and enrollments among young people, their trajectories through higher education have become increasingly complex. Even after initially starting as "traditional" students, many college graduates are only able to complete a bachelor's degree after a series of stops and starts across multiple institutions. While there is a growing body of research regarding nontraditional students, we know very little about how these individuals make sense of their trajectories. This qualitative study draws on interviews with 40 college graduates who attained a bachelor's degree following an extended and interrupted path. We consider how these individuals, who we define as post-traditional graduates, come to understand the value of college, distinguishing between the moral value, referred to as the expressive logic, and more practical and economic explanations, referred to as the instrumental logic. Our study found that an instrumental logic characterized the beginning of their college journeys, but what sustained our participants over time was an expressive logic: an evolved understanding of college as a process conferring personal development and moral worth.     مستخلص: Misophonia was initially described in 2001 as a specific sensitivity to certain sounds (e.g., chewing, pen clicking). Despite greater recognition of misophonia over the last two decades, the extent of awareness of misophonia in the general public is unknown. Extensive research emphasizes the importance of public awareness in recognition and treatment of mental disorders and medical conditions. Awareness of misophonia is important for the continued advancement of misophonia research and identification of individuals with misophonia. As an important first step, this study investigated the general public's understanding of misophonia. Data were collected through Ipsos KnowledgePanel, which maintains a large, probability-based web panel designed to be representative of the United States. Panel members were invited to complete a brief survey, and the final sample was comprised of 4,005 participants (51.5% female). A small portion of individuals (11.3%, n = 451) recognized misophonia. A multivariate binary logistic regression model revealed that individuals who were female, younger, White/non-Hispanic, had a Bachelor's degree or higher, or reported an annual income between $75,000 - $99,000 were significantly more likely to endorse misophonia recognition. Most participants who were familiar with misophonia reported an accurate understanding about misophonia; yet, low level of knowledge. The internet was most commonly identified as the primary information source. Findings highlight the low level of misophonia awareness among laypersons and emphasize the need to increase public knowledge of misophonia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

    مستخلص: Interdisciplinary education has become increasingly prominent as a core instrument to prepare the next generation workforce. Yet, little is known about the impacts of long-term degree-oriented interdisciplinary education on post-graduation outcomes. This paper aims to investigate the influence of long-term degree-oriented interdisciplinary education on graduates' post-graduation plan choices and labour market outcomes using unique administrative micro-data and career-tracking data from a comprehensive research university. Our results indicate that higher levels of engagement in interdisciplinary learning increase the probability of pursuing future study and employment in a field that differs from a graduate's college degree, and are also associated with a higher probability to enter the workforce. Yet, this positive association between interdisciplinary learning and the probability of entering the workforce is specific to graduates from traditional disciplinary programmes. Additionally, our findings suggest that the impact of long-term degree-oriented interdisciplinary education on early labour market outcomes is overall beneficial but varies across degree fields. The findings of our study provided partial evidence in support of the influence of long-term degree-oriented interdisciplinary education on post-graduation plan choices and early labour market outcomes. We suggest that given resource constraints, higher education institutions could consider relaxing module choice restrictions in traditional disciplinary programmes to promote interdisciplinary education. However, it is important to note that higher education institutions should carefully consider the potential trade-off between the breadth of interdisciplinary content and the depth of specialist content, in order to strike a balance.     مستخلص: This study aimed to develop the scoring functions for the recently developed value assessment framework (VAF) for China, which comprises 12 attributes. We implemented a factorial survey among Chinese healthcare stakeholders from July to September 2022. A total of 240 hypothetical drug value profiles described by the VAF were grouped into 60 blocks and randomly assigned to respondents. Each respondent was assigned with 1 block, each presented in 3 disease scenarios of different levels of severity. For each profile, respondents were asked to assess the drug's value on a scale from 0 (lowest) to 10 (highest) and make 1 of the 3 insurance recommendations: cover, to be negotiated for coverage, or reject. Linear and logistic mixed-effects models were used to develop scoring functions for aggregating the value attributes. A total of 365 respondents participated in the survey. 3968 responses from 331 respondents were included in the analysis. Most of the included respondents were under 45 (n = 256, 77.3%), females (n = 208, 62.8%), living in urban areas (n = 296, 89.4%), and with a bachelor's degree or higher (n = 303, 91.5%). Health benefits and safety carried more weights than other attributes in the scoring functions across disease scenarios. The value and probability of entering negotiation or receiving insurance coverage for the attribute profiles for severe/critical disease were higher than for mild/moderate disease. The scoring functions of the VAF can be used to assess the value of a drug and its probability of entering negotiation or receiving insurance coverage in China. • Through qualitative interviews and document analysis, 12 attributes grouped in 8 categories were identified and included in a value assessment framework for China. The value assessment framework comprises severity of disease, health benefits, safety, economic impact, innovation, organizational impact, health equity, and quality of evidence. • We conducted a factorial survey in which 240 value profiles with 10 attributes experimentally varying in their levels were randomly assigned to 365 healthcare stakeholders in China to assess the value of hypothetical drugs and make insurance coverage recommendations. • The scoring functions can be used to estimate the value of a drug and the probability of its entering negotiation or receiving coverage in China in different disease scenarios. In the scoring functions for severe/critical disease or mild/moderate disease, health benefits and safety carried higher weights than other attributes.
