مستخلص: The preschool period is recognized as a crucial phase for fostering the social development of children. Self-regulation during the developmental period contributes to management skills in social contexts and thus helps establish positive standards of behavior for peer relationships. Effective interventions can improve self-regulation skills. The main purpose of this study is to detect the predictive impact of self-regulation skills on peer relationships in preschool children. The participants consisted of 165 children of Turkish extraction (between the ages of 5 and 6). 81 of them were girls, and 84 were boys. The Self-Regulation Skills Scale for Children aged 4-6 (Teacher Form) and the sociometry technique based on peer nomination were utilized. The study results asserted that young children's self-regulation variables (inhibitory control, attention, and working memory) influenced their levels of being positively and significantly liked by peers. Moreover, young children's self-regulation variables (inhibitory control, attention, and working memory) affected their levels of being negatively and significantly disliked by peers. Also, inhibitory control, attention, and working memory significantly predicted the levels of social preference.

مستخلص: Role models are key to the development of self-regulation skills. The study aimed to develop a model that shows the relationship between high school students' role-modeling perceptions and self-regulation skills. In the study, the predictive correlation design of the quantitative research method was used. The study sample consisted of 362 high school students studying at a public high school and agreeing to participate in the research. The research data were collected with the "Perceived Role Models Scale" and the "Self-regulation Scale for Science". As a result, a model was developed showing that the reproduction, retention, and motivation dimensions of high school students' role modeling perceptions were statistically significant predictors of science self-regulation. This result proved that role models were important in developing high school students' self-regulation skills. Therefore, it could be argued that the development of self-regulation that begins at an early age is a lifelong process. The results of the study can be a reference point for research that will examine the relationship between the sub-dimensions of self-regulation and role modeling perception in depth. مستخلص: This study investigates the relationship between pilot candidates' self-control, self-efficacy, and training performance in terms of safety climate. Self-efficacy and safety climate are essential for the flight performance of pilots. However, the effect of self-control on flight performance has yet to be studied. In addition, high self-efficacy is always determined as an essential risk for aviation, but this reality has yet to be researched regarding the safety climate. This study employs qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Data are obtained from 244 pilot candidates training in flight schools in Turkey and then analyzed. There is a significant relationship between self-perceptions and flight performance of pilot candidates. Safety climate has a moderator role in the relationship between self-efficacy, self-control, and flight performance. In the second research model, it is determined that there is a significant relationship between safety climate and flight performance. Self-control and self-efficacy of pilot candidates moderate this relationship. Flight schools and airline companies should exert more effort to establish a safety culture within their institutions, particularly for individuals with excessive levels of self-efficacy. Excessive self-efficacy poses a significant potential risk for those who need to perceive safety culture more in their flight school. In addition, the pilot candidates' self-control level should be considered necessary when recruiting them. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

معرفات التقييم و الدراسة: Academic Motivation Scale

مستخلص: Over the past several decades, the psychological concepts of self-control and grit have gained prominence in the research literature. While these constructs have been studied extensively in isolation, there has been growing interest in understanding the relationship between the two constructs and the factors that mediate this relationship. The current study sought to examine the relationship between self-control and grit in a sample of 1079 undergraduate students (67.9% female) from twelve different state universities. Specifically, this study aimed to examine the mediating role of academic motivation and attention control in this relationship. Correlational analyses revealed that self-control and grit were positively associated with each other, as well as with academic motivation and attention control. Mediation analyses using bootstrapping procedures revealed that academic motivation and attention control partially mediated the relationship between self-control and grit. In other words, higher levels of self-control were associated with higher levels of academic motivation, which was associated with higher levels of grit. Similarly, higher levels of self-control were associated with better attention control, which was associated with higher levels of grit. These findings have important implications for understanding the components that contribute to the development of grit and suggest that interventions aimed at enhancing academic motivation and attention control may promote the development of greater grit in individuals. مستخلص: In this study, it has been tried to develop a different perspective in the literature by determining the reflection of couple burnout of mothers, which is examined as a problem between couples or a personal problem, on the social development of children. The study was designed in the relational survey model, one of the general survey models. In the study, the Social Skills Assessment Scale was used to measure the social skills of children, and the Couple Burnout Scale Short Form was used to measure the mother's burnout level. According to the findings, a significant negative relationship was found between the Social Skills Scale's sub-dimensions of Initiating and Maintaining Relationships, Aggressive Behaviors and Coping Skills with Impulses, Planning, Group Communication and Conducting a Job Skills, and Social Skills Scale Total Score and Couple Burnout. It has been observed that couple burnout of mothers negatively and significantly predicts children's social skills and sub-dimensions of social skills, such as initiating and maintaining relationships, coping with aggressive behaviors and impulses, planning, communication with the group and running a business. It was concluded that the couple burnout of the mothers negatively predicted the social skills of the children.

مستخلص: Self-control is always crucial in many areas of life. Therefore, self-control failure is the source of many of the difficulties people face in their lives and also at the center of several problems, especially among adolescents. In this regard, the purpose of the study was to examine the mediating role of multi-screen addiction (MSA) in the relationship between self-control and procrastination among adolescents by using structural equation modeling (SEM). A cross-sectional design and an online questionnaire was used in this study. The study group composed of 390 adolescents studying at various high schools in Turkey. The results of correlation analysis showed that self-control was negatively correlated with MSA and procrastination. MSA also positively correlated with procrastination. Furthermore, the findings showed that MSA mediated the relationship between self-control and procrastination. The fit index of the SEM was found to be satisfactory. The results of the study were addressed in the context of the existing literature, and then suggestions were presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

مستخلص: This study was conducted to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that can identify middle school students' self-regulation skills. Firstly, the literature was utilized in the development of the measurement tool. The form was finalized with the support of the opinions of different experts and a trial application. Then, the form was administered to 341 middle school students to determine its construct validity, and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed on the collected data. Then, the form was administered to 341 middle school students to determine its construct validity, and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed on the collected data. As a result of the study, it was determined that the scale consisted of 9 items and two sub-dimensions, namely "forethought" and "volitional control and self-reflection." In order to reveal the reliability of the scale, internal consistency, two-half test analyses, and composite reliability (CR) were used, and it was determined that the values found were .74 and above. In order to reveal the accuracy of the obtained structure, data were collected from 218 middle school students in a different province, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was performed with these data. As a result of the analysis, the two-factor structure of the scale was confirmed. When the findings are examined, it can be said that the scale is a reliable and valid tool that can be applied to determine the self-regulation skills of students studying at the middle school level.

مستخلص: This study examined the relationship between secondary school students' problem-solving success and perceptions using a relational survey model. This study investigated 378 students (212 girls and 166 boys) in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades between 11 and 14 years old using the convenience sampling method. The problem-solving inventory for children, routine and non-routine problem tests, and problem evaluation rubric were used for data collection. Descriptive and inferential analyzes were utilized. The results indicated that students tended to avoid the problem-solving process. Variables of trust, self-control, and avoidance regarding problem-solving perceptions significantly predicted students' success in solving routine and non-routine problems.

مستخلص: Latent Class and Latent Profile Models are widely used in psychological assessment settings, especially when individual differences are suspected to be related to unobserved class memberships, such as different personality types. This paper provides an easy-to-follow introduction and application of the methodology to the data collected as part of more extensive educational research investigating social-emotional competency profiles of preservice teachers (n=184) who responded to an Emotional Awareness Questionnaire. Suspected that there would be two or more latent emotional awareness sub-groups in the sample, a series of latent profile models was estimated. The results suggested three distinct emotional awareness profiles; namely, introverted, extroverted, and less sensitive to others' emotions, with proportions of 9%, 56%, and 35%, respectively. Subsequent analyses showed that preservice teachers with higher levels of emotionality, sociability, and well-being were more likely to be in the extroverted profile. The findings suggest that nearly half of the teachers in the sample could be expected to possess the most professionally desirable teacher profile. Nonetheless, it was noted that if timely diagnostic and tailored training or intervention programs were available, at least some of the preservice teachers in the less sensitive to others' profiles, and most of the preservice teachers in the introverted profile could be helped to self-observe the way which they tend to identify and regulate their emotions.

مستخلص: The aim of the study is to determine the extent to which the root values were included in the middle school mathematics textbooks that were recommended in the 2018 middle school mathematics curriculum by Ministry of National Education (MoNE). In this study, mathematics textbooks were assumed to be an important material in terms of development of students' intention to use root values. The data were collected from ten mathematics textbooks, including two fifth grade, three sixth grade, two seventh grade, and three eighth grades, recommended by MoNE for use in middle schools in the 2019-2020 academic year. A basic qualitative research design was used in the study. To analyze the data a content analysis process was implemented. As a result, it was found that while the values of friendship, self-control, responsibility, patriotism, and benevolence were used in the textbooks in detail and with their first meanings, there was not enough content about the values of justice, honesty, respect, and love and these values were being used differently from their first meanings. It is recommended that the content involving root values should be distributed more homogeneously to the grade levels and values should be used with their first meaning in mathematics textbooks. In addition, there should be more specific information in mathematics textbooks about how to integrate root values into a mathematics classroom.
