The article presents a study which examines the possible nonobstetric risk factors for symptomatic pelvic organ prolapse (POP) in women population. It measures the links among tentatively implicated nonobstetric factors and symptomatic prolapse using the population-based, cross-sectional study. Female residents of Stockholm, Sweden who were randomly selected have been surveyed. Results show that nonconsulting population, age and parity were the dominating risk factors for POP. |
