The article reports a study which investigated the existence of mechanoreceptors in Achilles tendon anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) allografts histologically. The results demonstrate that Achilles allografts show a similar appearance to that of normal ligaments except for the absence of mechanoreceptors. This means that there are no newly ingrown mechanoreceptors in ACL allografts. |
