This article explores the "Biglino phenomenon", namely the reception of the works of Mauro Biglino. His interpretation of the Old Testament can be labelled as an "ancient astronauts hypothesis". According to Biglino, JHWH is not a god. The Old Testament does not talk about deities; it is a reliable chronicle about some ancient astronauts who visited the earth. Moreover, there is no monotheism at all in the Old Testament and in the religious history of ancient Israel. What we call "monotheism" is just the product of a late interpretation of the Old Testament according to a «monotheistic theology». These theologians use false translations and have intentionally distorted interpretations of the Old Testament to legitimate the Jewish and Christian religions and gain political and social «control of the consciousness». Like every ancient astronauts hypothesis, also Biglino's one is based on a pseudo-scientific method. Despite its secular character, Biglino's work finds a place in the processes of religious individualization and has been received by a large spiritually oriented audience. Il presente studio analizza il "fenomeno Biglino", cioè la ricezione del lavoro dello scrittore Mauro Biglino. Quest'autore propone una lettura dell'Antico Testamento che si colloca nel filone della cosiddetta "paleoastronautica". JHWH non sarebbe un dio ma un extraterrestre, la Bibbia non parlerebbe di divinità ma sarebbe una cronaca fedele delle vicende di alieni giunti sulla terra; inoltre non vi sarebbe traccia di monoteismo né nell'Antico Testamento né nella storia dell'antico Israele. Ciò che definiamo monoteismo biblico sarebbe una forzatura interpretativa del testo realizzata da una successiva «teologia monoteista giudaico-cristiana» per legittimare le religioni e una «struttura di potere e di controllo delle coscienze». Come avviene per ogni teoria paeloastronautica, anche i lavori di Biglino si basano su un metodo di analisi pseudo-scientifico. Nonostante il suo carattere secolare, la ricezione del lavoro di Biglino si colloca all'interno dei processi d'individualizzazione religiosa, venendo assorbito da un'utenza interessata alla spiritualità.
