مستخلص: The article presents information on a study which examined the interaction of cortical bone strength and mass in a relatively active, long-lived nineteenth-century Euro-Canadian adult population, through skeletal samples from the Saint Thomas' Anglican Church Cemetery collection from Belleville, Ontario. The effects of age, sex, and size on bone strength and relative cortical area (RCA) are discussed. It also analyzes age-related variation in strength and mass of the femur compared with the metacarpal.
