مستخلص: |
The article presents a study regarding the impact of gender on the outcome of patients with nosocomial infections admitted in the intensive care unit. It highlights the factors that trigger the gender-related differences between the responses of male and female patients to the disease such as the different level of sex hormones, pathogen distribution, and standard of care rendered. The study shows that female patients with nosocomial infections have higher risk of mortality compared to males. |
