مستخلص: This article discusses a study conducted at the University Hospital of Nancy to determine if virtual reality (VR) can be used as an alternative to sedation during colonoscopy procedures. The study included 140 adults who underwent colonoscopies either under sedation or with VR. The results showed that the rate of cecal intubation was higher in the sedation group compared to the VR group. However, there were no significant differences in pain, anxiety, patient comfort, total procedure time, or polyp resection rate between the two groups. The study suggests that VR can be a viable alternative to sedation for colonoscopy procedures, providing comfort and reducing risks associated with sedation. [Extracted from the article]
