الوصف: An in vivo perfused preparation was developed and used to study the effect of drugs on the dog electroureterogram. function This method eliminated the secondary effects of changes in blood pressure and urine flow produced by the drugs. Using this method, norepinephrine, epinephrine and some concentrations of acetylcholine accelerated ureteral peristalsis. Isoproterenol decreased ureteral peristalsis. Phentolamine, propranclol, neostigmine, atropine, DMPP, hexame’honium, and TTX showed no effect. Also, the effects of catecholamines and acetylcholine were not aliened by the influence of TTX. The results indicate that these drugs exert their effect on ureterEl peristalsis locally and not through neural pathways.
