| الوصف: | Bu tezin temel amacı, Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretiminde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarısına etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırma 2013-2014 öğretim yılı güz döneminde, Giresun Merkez okullarından Mustafa Kemal ortaokulunda öğrenim gören 7. sınıflardan 25 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. "Ülkemizde Nüfus" ünitesinde yer alan "Görsel materyaller ve verilerden yararlanarak Türkiye'deki nüfusun dağılışının neden ve sonuçlarını tartışır." kazanımını ArcGIS 10.1 programı kullanılarak sosyal bilgiler 7. sınıf öğrencilerine öğretilmiştir. Çalışmada, araştırma grubuna Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri kullanılarak ders anlatılmıştır. "Ülkemizde Nüfus" ünitesinin ilgili kazanımından oluşan ön mülakat ve konunun anlatımından sonra uygulanan son mülakat sonuçları değerlendirilerek yorumlanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizindeki istatistiki işlemler SPSS programının 15.0 sürümünde analiz edilmiştir. Nicel veriler eşleştirilmiş örneklem t-testi ile nitel veriler ise frekans (F) ve yüzdelikleri (%) yorumlanarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda uygulama öncesi ve sonrası öğrencilerin başarı düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farkın olduğu görülmüştür. Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri kullanımı öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarını yükselttiği sonucuna varılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda öğretmenlere, öğrencilere ve program geliştiricilere tavsiyelerde bulunulmuştur. ; The main aim of this study is to determine the effect of using Geographical Information Systems on students's academical success. The study has been applied to 25 seventh grade students studying at Mustafa Kemal Elementary School in Giresun city in 2013-2014 fall semester.
