الوصف: Objectives The aim of the ITI Consensus Workshop on zygomatic implants was to provide Consensus Statements and Clinical Recommendations for the use of zygomatic implants. Materials and methods Three systematic reviews and one narrative review were written to address focused questions on (1) the indications for the use of zygomatic implants; (2) the survival rates and complications associated with surgery in zygomatic implant placement; (3) long-term survival rates of zygomatic implants and (4) the biomechanical principles involved when zygoma implants are placed under functional loads. Based on the reviews, three working groups then developed Consensus Statements and Clinical Recommendations. These were discussed in a plenary and finalized in Delphi rounds. Results A total of 21 Consensus Statements were developed from the systematic reviews. Additionally, the group developed 17 Clinical Recommendations based on the Consensus Statements and the combined expertise of the participants. Conclusions Zygomatic implants are mainly indicated in cases with maxillary bone atrophy or deficiency. Long-term mean zygomatic implant survival was 96.2% [95% CI 93.8; 97.7] over a mean follow-up of 75.4 months (6.3 years) with a follow-up range of 36–141.6 months (3–11.8 years). Immediate loading showed a statistically significant increase in survival over delayed loading. Sinusitis presented with a total prevalence of 14.2% [95% CI 8.8; 22.0] over a mean 65.4 months follow-up, representing the most common complication which may lead to zygomatic implant loss. The international experts suggested clinical recommendations regarding planning, surgery, restoration, outcomes, and the patient’s perspective.

الوصف: Purpose The purpose of this systematic review was to assess the evidence regarding the indications for placement of zygomatic implants to rehabilitate edentulous maxillae. Material and methods A focused question using the PIO format was developed, questioning “in patients in need of an implant-supported rehabilitation of the edentulous maxillae, what are the indications for the use of zygomatic implants’’. The primary information analyzed and collected was a clear description of the indication for the use of zygomatic implants. Results A total of 1266 records were identified through database searching. The full-text review was conducted for 117 papers, and 10 were selected to be included in this review. Zygomatic implant indications were extreme bone atrophy or deficiency secondary to different factors. The quad zygoma concept (two zygomatic implants bilaterally placed and splinted) was applied to 107 patients, the classic zygoma concept (one zygomatic implant bilaterally placed and splinted to standard anterior implants) was used in 88 patients, and the unilateral concept (one zygomatic implant on one side, splinted with one or more conventional implants) was employed in 14 patients. Conclusions The main indication for the use of zygomatic implants was considered extreme maxillary bone atrophy, resulting from many factors. The clear definition of what was considered “extreme bone atrophy” is not uniquely defined in each paper. Further studies are needed to develop clear indications for zygomatic implants. الوصف: Objective The objective of this study was to compare the efficacy differences between Chinese patent medicines combined with hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in the treatment of premature ovarian failure (POF) by the Bayesian network meta-analysis (NMA) method. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting Chinese patent medicine combined with HRT for POF included Medline ( via PubMed), Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Wanfang Database (Wanfang), VIP Database (VIP), and China Biology Medicine Database (CBM) from the inception of the databases to July 2022. Two researchers independently screened the articles, extracted data, and evaluated the quality. The literature that met the inclusion criteria was screened out, the quality and risk of bias of the included studies were assessed according to the Cochrane 5.1 manual and RevMan 5.4, and NMA was performed using Stata 15.0 and R software. Results Sixty-four RCTs involving 5,675 individuals containing 12 oral Chinese patent medicines combined with HRT were enrolled into the current NMA. The results showed that when compared with patients using only HRT, the total clinical response rate is greater in patients using HRT combined with one of these 12 oral Chinese patent medicines. Among them, Zuogui pills + HRT [odds ratio (OR) = 3.92; 95% credible interval (CrI) = 0.86, 23.84; SUCRA = 73.76%] is most likely to be the best intervention, and the suboptimal intervention is Guishen pills + HRT (OR = 3.22, 95% CrI = 1.16, 9.44, SUCRA = 70.60%). Conclusion Chinese patent medicines combined with HRT were more effective than HRT alone in the treatment of POF. Zuogui pills are good at decreasing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) and more effective in the improvement of total clinical response rate; Xuefu Zhuyu capsule is also good at decreasing FSH. Ziheche capsule is an expert in improving estradiol level; Kuntai capsule shows the lowest incidence of adverse reactions. However, the ...

الوصف: Mesencephalic astrocyte-derived neurotrophic factor (MANF), an endoplasmic reticulum stress-inducible secreting protein, has evolutionarily conserved immune-regulatory function that contributes to the negative regulation of inflammation in macrophages. In this study, we investigated the profiles of MANF in the macrophages of the patients with active inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the mice with experimental colitis, which was induced in both myeloid cell-specific MANF knockout mice and wild-type mice by 3% dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) for 7 days. We found that MANF expression was significantly increased in intestinal macrophages from both the mice with experimental colitis and patients with active IBD. DSS-induced colitis was exacerbated in myeloid cell-specific MANF knockout mice. Injection of recombinant human MANF (rhMANF, 10 mg·kg–1·d–1, i.v.) from D4 to D6 significantly ameliorated experimental colitis in DSS-treated mice. More importantly, MANF deficiency in myeloid cells resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of Ly6ChiCX3CRint proinflammatory macrophages in colon lamina propria of DSS-treated mice, and the proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines were upregulated as well. Meanwhile, we demonstrated that MANF attenuated Th17-mediated immunopathology by inhibiting BATF2-mediated innate immune response and downregulating CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL11 and IL-12p40; MANF functioned as a negative regulator in inflammatory macrophages via inhibiting CHOP-BATF2 signaling pathway, thereby protecting against DSS-induced mouse colitis. These results suggest that MANF ameliorates colon injury by negatively regulating inflammatory macrophage transformation, which shed light on a potential therapeutic target for IBD.

الوصف: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major risk factor for ischemic stroke. We aimed to identify novel potential biomarkers with diagnostic value in patients with atrial fibrillation-related cardioembolic stroke (AF-CE).Publicly available gene expression profiles related to AF, cardioembolic stroke (CE), and large artery atherosclerosis (LAA) were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified and then functionally annotated. The support vector machine recursive feature elimination (SVM-RFE) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis were conducted to identify potential diagnostic AF-CE biomarkers. Furthermore, the results were validated by using external data sets, and discriminability was measured by the area under the ROC curve (AUC). In order to verify the predictive results, the blood samples of 13 healthy controls, 20 patients with CE, and 20 patients with LAA stroke were acquired for RT-qPCR, and the correlation between biomarkers and clinical features was further explored. Lastly, a nomogram and the companion website were developed to predict the CE-risk rate. Three feature genes (C1QC, VSIG4, and CFD) were selected and validated in the training and the external datasets. The qRT-PCR evaluation showed that the levels of blood biomarkers (C1QC, VSIG4, and CFD) in patients with AF-CE can be used to differentiate patients with AF-CE from normal controls ( P < 0.05 ) and can effectively discriminate AF-CE from LAA stroke ( P < 0.05 ). Immune cell infiltration analysis revealed that three feature genes were correlated with immune system such as neutrophils. Clinical impact curve, calibration curves, ROC, and DCAs of the nomogram indicate that the nomogram had good performance. Our findings showed that C1QC, VSIG4, and CFD can potentially serve as diagnostic blood biomarkers of AF-CE; novel nomogram and the companion website can help clinicians to identify high-risk individuals, thus helping to guide treatment decisions for stroke patients.

الوصف: Due to the increasingly serious antibiotic-related pollution, it is crucial to develop novel green bioadsorbents to effectively remove antibiotics from aqueous solutions. In this study, Fe doped zeolitic imidazolate frameworks-8 loaded cellulose (Fe/ZIF-8@cellulose) aerogels were prepared. The synthesized Fe/ZIF-8@cellulose aerogels were characterized experimentally including morphology observation and chemical compositions determination. The effects of bioadsorbent dosage, solution pH, adsorption time, initial TC concentration and adsorption temperature on the TC adsorption behaviors were systematically studied. Due to the introduction of Fe in the ZIF-8, the maximum adsorption capacity of Fe/ZIF-8@cellulose for TC could reach as high as 1359.2 mg/g, which is higher than the reported ZIF-8 loaded polysaccharide based adsorbents. The adsorption kinetics and isotherm of TC adsorption were also determined. With the cellulose as the matrix to load Fe/ZIF-8, the obtained Fe/ZIF-8@cellulose aerogels exhibited good reusability. Most importantly, the TC adsorption mechanism was proposed. The results of our finding suggest that the Fe doping into MOFs is an effective strategy to improve the antibiotics adsorption performance and the application of cellulose as the matrix is a valuable method to increase the cyclic utilization. This study highlights the potentials of applying the Fe/ZIF-8@cellulose aerogels in the antibiotics removal for practical wastewater.

الوصف: In this study, magnetic graphene oxide (MGO) nanohybrids were first prepared by loading Fe3O4 NPs onto graphene oxide (GO). Then, GS-MGO nanohybrids were prepared by grafting gentamicin sulfate (GS) onto MGO directly using a simple amidation reaction. The prepared GS-MGO had the same magnetism as MGO. They exhibited excellent antibacterial ability against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria. The GS-MGO had excellent antibacterial performance against Escherichia coli (E. coli), Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), and Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes). When the addition concentration of GS-MGO was 1.25 mg/mL, the calculated bacteriostatic ratios against E. coli and S. aureus achieved 89.8% and 100%, respectively. For L. monocytogenes, only 0.05 mg/mL of GS-MGO had an antibacterial ratio as high as 99%. In addition, the prepared GS-MGO nanohybrids also exhibited excellent non-leaching activity with good recycling antibacterial ability. After eight times antibacterial tests, GS-MGO nanohybrids still exhibited an excellent inhibition effect on E. coli, S. aureus, and L. monocytogenes. Therefore, as a non-leaching antibacterial agent, the fabricated GS-MGO nanohybrid had dramatic antibacterial properties and also showed great recycling ability. Thus, it displayed great potential in the design of novel recycling antibacterial agents with non-leaching activity.

الوصف: Berberine has myocardial protective effects. The protective effects of berberine on heart ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury were explored.Human cardiomyocytes were divided into control group, oxygen-glucose deprivation/re-oxygen (OGD/R) (2 h OGD with 24 h reoxygenation) group, OGD/R + low group (5 μM berberine for 24 h) and OGD/R + high group (10 μM berberine for 24 h). Twenty-four Wistar rats were divided into sham group, I/R group (45 min occlusion with 2 h reperfusion), I/R + berberine group (50 mg/kg berberine 1 h before I/R surgery) and I/R + berberine + antagomir (intraperitoneally injected with miR-26b-5p antagomir). MicroRNA profile, effects of berberine on I/R or OGD/R-induced injuries, and the role of miR-26b-5p in the function of berberine were explored.OGD/R treatment suppressed viability (0.41 ± 0.05 vs. 0.87 ± 0.13,Berberine exerted anti-I/R function in heart by inducing miR-26b-5p and suppressing the PTGS2/MAPK pathway. These data promote the application of berberine as an anti-I/R agent.
