مستخلص: Concept of Microfinance is evolving in India and other developing countries, however with the renewed initiative like Make in India it becomes imperative to understand how microfinance services can have a positive impact. Though it is more of microcredit facilities prevailing in the Indian context and also there are some evidence that suggest that microfinance is in its nascent stages. It is questionable whether microcredit can transform into suitable microfinance services but still the scope has to be identified. Under the 'Make in India' initiative, the government has, in the last one year, announced several steps to improve the business environment by easing processes to do business in the country, and attract foreign investments. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand how microfinance facilities in India can prove vital for the success of Make in India campaign and to identify how microfinance can be commercialised and scaled so that it encapsulates the achievement of objectives of Make in India campaign. Research Methodology Qualitative analysis has been used in this paper and methodology focuses on exploring the field of microfinance and takes forward the vision of NABARD. In this paper, issues related to the existing microfinance structure that can prove beneficial for the Make in India campaign is highlighted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
