مستخلص: A recent study conducted by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in Iran aimed to determine the effectiveness of a family-centered behavioral modification package in improving the eating behavior, BMI percentile, and abdominal circumference of obese school-age girls. The study involved 80 obese female students aged 7-12 and utilized a seven-session intervention program. The results showed significant improvements in enjoyment of food, satiety responsiveness, and slowness in eating, while food responsiveness, emotional overeating, emotional undereating, and food fussiness decreased. Additionally, there were statistically significant differences in BMI percentile and abdominal circumference between the two groups after the intervention. The study suggests that a family-centered behavioral modification program can be effective in modifying a child's eating behavior and achieving weight reduction. [Extracted from the article]
