The article presents a report prepared by the Workgroup on Noninfectious Diseases for the "Conference on Global Disease Elimination and Eradication as Public Health Strategies," held in Atlanta, Georgia. It says that the implementation of programmes for the diseases are being affected by the degree of interdependence among communities in terms of community interventions and the resources from the health system budget. The workgroup noted the benefits of addressing toxic exposures, protein-energy malnutrition and micronutrient malnutrition. |
