    الوصف: Background: The emergence of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has caused an unprecedented global catas-trophe in the 21st century as a major virus outbreak The disease as well as the different preventive measures taken to contain the disease especially quarantine and lockdown, loss of income, loss of job and financial insecurity have led to an enormous impact on the mental health of the community and various psychological problems in the form of anxiety, depression and stress Objective: This article aims to highlight the extent of the impact of COVID-19 on mental health with a special focus on depression in the general population of Odisha Methods: This is a cross-sectional study carried out among the general population of Odisha through an online semi-structured questionnaire the link of which was sent to the participants by way of e-mails, WhatsApp and other social contacts Data analysis of the received responses was done Various statistical analyses were adopted using methods like Microsoft Excel, 2013, R version 4 0 2 software, t-test and Chi-square tests Significant predictor analysis was done using logistic regression Results: The incidence of depression to the tune of 43% was found (Mild-10 28%, Moderate-16 19%, Severe-5 56%, Extremely severe – 9 96%) Risk factors associated were the younger age group (21-40 years), unmarried persons (71 5%0, students (51 1%), persons not having symptoms of COVID-19 (78 4%), and persons without jobs (47 8%) Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic is associated with highly significant levels of depression and is the topmost priority concern It is important to take adequate measures to mitigate the severity of the impact Early identification of worsening mental health and prompt response to address the problem can prevent further damage ©@IJCRR

    الوصف: Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is the biggest public health threat to the whole world to date The whole world is in a state of severe stress and anxiety because of this deadly pandemic Objective: To assess the anxiety of the general public for COVID-19 and to analyse their preparedness Materials and Methods: It was a cross-sectional study conducted in March 2020 among Indian adults more than 18 years of age Data of 505 persons were included in analysis A google form was created and sent to the e-mail address and WhatsApp groups Data were collected regarding anxiety related to COVID19, their preparedness and level of trust towards information given Results: Among participants, 46 1% had anxiety about being infected and 50 1% had anxiety about family members being infected and 56 7% had hesitation to meet with others About one-third of participants had mental exhaustion and 22 8% had insomnia More than 80% participants had purchased mask, 96 8% had purchased hand sanitizers/ hand wash, 75 8% had kept necessary medicines, 62% had kept groceries and 70% had restricted the access of outsiders to their home About 99% follow the advice given by public health authority,92 5% of participants stay at home More than 90% maintain a social distance of 2 metres, about 97% of participants personally comply, make children and family members comply and encourage friends to comply with official recommendations Conclusion: Anxiety due to COVID-19 pandemic is a matter of concern To improve their mental health, online health education and counselling can be offered by health professionals © IJCRR

    الوصف: Background: During this Current pandemic situation, as we all know that the whole world is unfortunately forced to be indoor but, because of this pandemic various sectors have being affected, out of which the education sector has been affected greatly, as this corona pandemic has taken more than 6 months of the education, school, colleges and tuition teachers have started taking online classes thereby resuming the curriculum The Educational platforms like google classroom, google meet, zoom etc are being used more now than in the past as compared to the traditional teaching method in which teachers can interact one on one with the students Method: Descriptive Study was conducted by providing E-Questionnaire and personal information sheet 200 participants with the age group of 25-60 years both genders were selected according to the inclusion criteria Results: Statistical analysis was done using a paired and unpaired t-test The outcome was measured by using PHQ-9 Questionnaire and personal information form Conclusion: The Above Conducted study Showed that there is a state of depression is present in the young teachers who are taking online lectures because of COVID-19 Pandemic situation © IJCRR

    الوصف: Background: The 2019 coronavirus outbreak has caused a global health epidemic which changed the way we view our environ-ment and our daily lives The rate of transmission challenged our sense of identity and for safety and to prevent the spread of infection also need social distancing Objectives: The survey aimed to assess the knowledge & attitude on coronavirus infection among the general population Methods: A total of 620 participants from Odisha urban community agreed to participate in the survey regarding COVID-19 A self-structured questionnaire was used to collect data Participants were selected by convenient sampling method The demographic characteristics were represented by frequencies and percentage Descriptive statistics used to calculate mean, SD and P-value Results: Among the participants (n=620), most of the participants 75 9% were females, more than half 59 4% of participants were between 31 to 40 years, majority 75 1% were living in the nuclear family, the majority 76 4% participants were married and a majority 75 9% were completed graduation 80 28% of participants have good knowledge, 58 03% of participant’s attitude was positive Most of 72 6 % participants believe India can win the battle against COVID 19, 85 1% reported that their daily routine changed due to the pandemic Conclusion: The emerging coronavirus disease outbreak demands all people should maintain a minimum of 1-meter distance from each other and different various methods to ensure the safety of general people There is a need for active public aware-ness, clear information, and strict guidelines to improve the knowledge and attitude of the general population © IJCRR
