This article presents a study on the role of heparin binding (HB) EGF in the vasospastic response to endothelin (ET-1). Changes in the vasocontractile response to endothelin of HB-EGF-deficient arteries are described. The role of PI3K-kinase on the ET-1-induced increase in calcium mobilization in vascular smooth muscle cells is discussed. Conclusions of the study are given. |
