الوصف: In this paper a description of some of the most common colour constancy algorithms is presented. Gray World, Max-RGB and Shades of Gray are simple algorithms that under specific con-straints deliver a reasonable estimate of the incident light in a scene. Maloney and Wandell’s algorithm has a strong mathemati-cal basis, however it requires certain conditions that are not met in general. These approaches have been used as a basis for the devel-opment of several new ideas that attempt to overcome their limita-tions and find a general solution to the colour constancy problem. In the same spirit, we have developed a new approach based on those principles. Here we begin by describing those algorithms and finally we compare their results with those of our approach.
