    الوصف: The Library Information Skills course is inserted as a three-lesson workshop within a research course in the Theology curriculum, whose purpose is to develop informational skills in the student and incorporate them into the research work carried out during the course. As a result, it has been observed in the students an improvement both in the search for information and in the use and management of bibliographic reference managers, and a knowledge/application of specific citation norms. In academics, the use of informational competencies in their teaching work is valued, as well as the systematization of collaborative work with the librarian in the development of the course. There is also an increase in the demand for consultations received by the librarian of the Theology Library. An analysis of the results is expected to be carried out to evaluate their scope and relevance in the Theology curriculum, to promote a researcher profile in the graduates.

    الوصف: Public libraries provide access to technology and digital competence, since training in the critical, reflective and purposive use of information is a compensatory factor for digital exclusion. This study seeks to analyse this training’s potential and limitations when designing and applying these services. The methodology is based on qualitative techniques such as interviews and discussion groups. Interviews were performed with ten reputedly expert librarians, using a questionnaire with nine questions about digital literacy services and the role that public libraries should play for digital inclusion. The views of public librarians from the Region of Murcia (Spain) were obtained through three discussion groups, selected according to the population size of the cities where their libraries are located. In addition to this, structured guidelines in accordance with topics on information literacy services, human and material resources, librarians’ training necessities or typology of users were followed. It emerges that librarians are highly committed to their function in digital literacy services and digital inclusion. However, this is restricted by the human and material resources at their disposal, and by the specific needs and demands associated with different types of users. The analysis concludes with some proposals for managing these services including collaboration strategies within private entities or public local departments.

    الوصف: There are two classes in the society – the first class has access to information and computing technology and the second class is ignorant about them. The phrase 'digital divide' refers to the disparity between these two classes of people. This article presents some facts about the digital divide relevant to the Indian scenario, which focuses on the factors that increase the digital divide, types of digital divide, its causes as well as programs for digital inclusion. The article also discusses the role of libraries and information centers in bridging the digital divide. Libraries are considered the 'heart of an institution', allowing all categories of users, regardless of caste, creed or age group, access to information resources. ICT and the Internet have simplified and streamlined access to global information, making it more convenient, reliable and accessible anywhere, at any time and in any format. Libraries have the potential to bridge the digital divide in social, economic and educational development due to their characteristics of providing access to global knowledge to all sections and user categories.

    الوصف: In recent years, the repercussions of disruptive technologies have recalibrated many of the edges of the national legal systems. The fact that several provisions of the legislation resort to digital technologies to guarantee the deployment of essential freedoms (such as the right to information) does not necessarily translate into an understanding of their effects on daily life, nor on the development of indispensable capacities to take advantage of its benefits (without the loss of some type of agency). Therefore, being immersed in a digital culture, and in a broad informative legal framework, does not imply that the sectors and communities of society have an understanding of the requirements that this digitality seems to impose for the enjoyment of their rights, as epistemic agents that seek, process and transmit information. To freely deploy our essential faculties, and to fully enjoy our freedoms, it is vital to become digitally literate. In order to articulate the full exercise of the right to information with the faculties that digital literacy integrates, a more robust theorizing is needed that helps to discern between digital processes and informative processes, namely, a digital epistemology that helps to understand how it is that the digital dimension influences the understanding of the informative dimension.

    الوصف: The present essay is a research work about the scientific production in Digital Preservation through the use of the Web of Science database. A state of the art is established in which the most important milestones in Digital Preservation are collected, as well as the content analysis of definitions and their influence in Spain. The scientific production is analysed by treating the scientific articles retrieved from the Web of Science. This analysis is based on the application of bibliometric laws, the Impact Factor, the SJR, the index-h and trends according to language, country, institutions, research areas, document typology, abstract and descriptors. Finally, a series of conclusions are drawn together with a prospective for future work related to this study.

    الوصف: Objectives: The aim of this article is to present the state of the art in the quality of health information on the Internet; to identify who the leading actors are and which the situations of the new information and communication scenario where technologies, users and information converge are; as well as pointing out the ways which contribute to the improvement of both the quality of health and medical online information and users’ information literacy skills. Methods: Literature review and analysis of the current context of information and communication regarding the quality of health and medical information on the Internet. Results: Immersed in the so-called network society, we have identified the protagonists of the new information and communication scenario, the matters they share, and the recurrent problem resulting from the introduction of new technologies within their relationships. Health is an issue of general interest, and health and medical information is one of the most requested topics online. New technologies have led users to be more proactive in their personal health care, and social web has moved into a leadership position in the network. Users with different profiles share affinities and values in a place where the quality of information becomes the cornerstone of the framework composed by provider–user–information.     الوصف: The present research, of qualitative and quantitative nature, presents the validation of the psychometric properties, a survey that measures the self-perception of the informational competences of a group of students of the Industrial Civil Engineering program at Universidad de La Serena, Coquimbo Region, Chile. In the context of Chilean higher education, a valid instrument to determine the development level of informational competencies doesn't exist. These informational competences are an essential tool in the teaching and learning process in higher education. This work develops a comprehensive framework that provides the theoretical foundation for the concepts of informational competencies and validation of a measuring instrument. The expert judgment procedure or the face validity method is used to determine the content validity of the survey. As well, the Cronbach Alpha internal consistency method is used to evaluate the reliability level of the instrument. The results of both processes are analysed and the conclusions of the study are presented. Finally, this research presents an approach for training of the informational competencies for surveyed students, through a practical training course.
