مستخلص: The Federal Reserve has adopted new risk-based capital requirements for depository institution holding companies engaged in insurance activities. The rule, known as the Building Block Approach, adjusts and aggregates existing capital requirements to determine enterprise-wide capital requirements. This rule brings savings and loan holding companies with significant insurance operations under the same capital rules as bank holding companies. The rule also incorporates requirements from state insurance regulators and includes provisions to comply with the Dodd Frank Act. The new rules will take effect on January 1, 2024.
