مستخلص: This article discusses findings of a study, which examined the effects of blocking interleukin-21 (IL-21) in two rodent models of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) to determine whether IL-21 contributes to their pathologic processes. A member of the type I cytokine family, IL-21 is related closely to IL-2 and IL-15. T cells produce inflammatory cytokines and help T cell-dependent autoantibody responses.
