The article presents case study of a 41-year-old man who was diagnosed with pediculus humanus which are obligatory ectoparasites that feed exclusively on human blood. Topics discussed include development of diabetic nephropathy and diabetic neuropathy in the patient; association of hronic and heavy lice infestation with anemia; and recommendation for use of potential bacterial superinfections for treatment of Pediculus humanus. |
