مستخلص: Acoustic emission (AE) measurements coupled with source locations of AE are an important tool for monitoring the evolution of microcracking during the deformation of pressuresensitive brittle materials. Successful resolution of acoustic emission signals, however, requires the transmission of low-amplitude (tens of microvolts), high-frequency ( 1 MHz) electrical signals. To accomplish this under hydrostatic pressure, AE signals must be transmitted along coaxial cables and through coaxial electrical feedthroughs from the inside to the outside of pressure vessels. The need for multiple, isolated feedthroughs in relatively small pressure vessels led to the development of the coaxial electrical feedthroughs as shown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
