مستخلص: The article discusses various issues in ensuring that signal conditioning is performed well for a data acquisition (DAQ) system. A concept that is important in the signal conditioning process is the Gibbs effect that is the result of the very slow convergence of a truncated Fourier series close to a discontinuity. Any square wave will have some ringing before and after the edges because of the Gibbs effect. This could be remedied by Gaussian and Bessel filtering.
