The article focuses on a study which examined the influence of folic acid on the risk of preterm birth. The study examined the association between preconceptional folate supplementation of at least one year and the reduction of early premature delivery rates. Study researchers suggest that taking folic acid supplements for at least one year before pregnancy could reduce premature delivery by 50 to 70 percent. |
