مستخلص: A randomized trial called the SWEET trial has shown that including sugar-substitute sweeteners and sweetness enhancers in a sugar-reduced maintenance diet after weight loss can improve weight maintenance and well-being in adults without increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes or cardiovascular disease. The trial also found that overweight or obese children who received the sweeteners experienced greater reductions in uncontrolled eating. These findings contradict previous reports that raised concerns about non-sugar sweeteners. However, the study had limitations, particularly in terms of the number of children involved, and further research is needed. The findings will be presented at the European Association for the Study of Obesity. [Extracted from the article]
