| مستخلص: | The aim of this paper is to analyse empirical application of contingent valuation method to assess environmental management practices in order to: 1) contribute to an understanding of the importance that intangible aspects have for the assessment of environmental management practices; 2) identify gaps that lead us to propose actions to guide future research in this field. A literature review of scientific production in international journals for the period 2000-2011 has been undertaken. Some of our findings show that: empirical applications are scarce and even more so if they focus in projects promoted by the business sector; there are no longitudinal studies that could facilitate application of contingent valuation method in the private business sector; and only a small number of the studies analysed apply the results to measuring the performance of the proposed project through a cost-benefit analysis. |
