This article focuses on a new study which shows that mercury may be responsible for causing premature birth. The study was conducted by Fei Xue of the Harvard School of Public Health and her colleagues. The researchers found that those who ate more fish tended to carry more mercury. It was also found that women who gave birth more than two weeks early were having mercury concentrations of at least 0.55 ppm in comparison to those who carried their babies to term. |
