In recent years, a wide range input voltage and wide range output voltage switch-mode power supply draw much attention. However, when the DC voltage gain rate expands to a certain extent, the resonant tank of the LLC resonant DC-DC converter will face the unbearable voltage stress and the resonant inductance will be difficult to be realized. Some extended problems also appear such as slow response speed and low power density. Being difficult to implement reveals the application limit of the LLC resonant DC-DC converter for the requirement of wide range input voltage and wide range output voltage. Therefore, this thesis proposes a novel LCCLL resonant DC-DC converter. Regardless of the expansion of the DC voltage gain rate, the voltage stress and inductance of the resonant tank are still in the acceptable range. The response speed and power density are also more acceptable. In other words, the LCCLL resonant DC-DC converter is more appropriate and easy to implement when it is applied to high DC voltage gain rate. In this thesis, the LCCLL resonant DC-DC converter has been analyzed, compared, designed and simulated. Finally, a 500 W LCCLL resonant DC-DC prototype converter is implemented to verify the effectiveness with the following specification, bus voltage range of 320~400 V, output voltage range of 100~400 V, output current of 1.25 A, and output power of 500 W.
