A biography of Richard Arnell, a British composer and symphonist, is presented. Arnell was born in Hampstead, London, England on September 15, 1917 and studied piano and composition at the Royal College of Music in London from 1935 to 1939. He was stranded in the U.S. during World War II and stayed in New York until 1947. During his sojourn in the U.S., he worked with British Broadcasting Company's North American Service as a music consultant and scored music for various films. He taught at Trinity College until his retirement after returning to England. |
