This audio recording of WTLC's news radio show Like It Is details a review of events of the Indy Black Expo including a youth march, a speech by Jesse Jackson including statements on the shooting of Urban League director Vernon Jordan, the annual African Symposium including information on Kwanzaa and discussion on Ebonics, statements on the auto industry and the importing of foreign cars, and a speech by a local Black attorney, threats made against two Black women on the IPS school board and various reactions, efforts to prevent the closure of 11 IPS elementary schools, information on a jobs referral program, accusations against governor Bowen for failing to pass a bill providing housing for people with intellectual disabilities, a review of sports including a man traveling to Washington DC by bicycle, a tennis tournament, and updates on the Pacers, the Indianapolis Capitols, and boxing, an address to Black youth, and an art exhibit at the Children's Museum dedicated to Black women. |
