The oral history begins with memories of the Avon District #11 school in Littleville that was taught by Lester Johnson. Mrs. Caroline Woodruff continues to share details of her immigration from England as a child circa 1889 and her memories of the paper mills in Avon. Byron S. Woodruff Sr. continues with his oral history of early Woodruff settlers coming from Orange, Connecticut, in 1740 and settling Livonia Center. The Woodruffs are a large pioneer family with members in C.T., N.Y., and O.H.
