مستخلص: The article presents the history of American Public Health Association (APHA) awards since 1960. The awards implemented to give honors and prestige to individual who did an excellent performance in any field. The awards include the Lomb prize awards, semi-centennial jubilee, sedgwick medal and lasker awards. Lomb prize award is intended for essays, in which the first winner was announced in December 1885. Sedgwick medal was awarded to health officer Charles V. Chaplin 1929 because of his devoted service in Providence. Discussions of the other awards imposed by the ALPHA are offered.
