مستخلص: This article features unusual activities by British accountants outside their profession. Roy Chatfield has taken over as partner in charge of Weeks Green's Andover office in Hampshire, England. In addition to his chartered accountancy job, Roy practices Shiatsu, a Japanese form of massage, devised to keep both recipient and practitioner healthy and relaxed. Shiatsu is based on the ancient Chinese theory of acupuncture. It differs from what Roy describes as European massage, in that the recipient wears clothes. He adds that most practitioners prefer working on a loosely clothed, but well covered body. And unlike some forms of massage, strength is not an obstacle to mastering this particular art though poor health and lack of time may be. Roy said that to become a recognized practitioner in Great Britain, one needs to train for 200 hours with at least three different Shiatsu schools, to gain a broad spectrum of ideas. Meanwhile, Arthur Dobson participated in a two-week Christian mission to Uganda. The response of the Ugandans to him, some of whom had never seen a white person before, took him by surprise. And while he realizes his missionary group was something of a curiosity, he muses over the fact that the Ugandans were so open and patient. He remembers that each day sick people would come forward to be healed. On another occasion they prayed for someone who was deaf. Despite all the healings his main achievement was in introducing thousands of people to Christianity. Although he's back at Dana Ltd. where he is group accountant, he is raising funds through his church to build an orphanage in Uganda.
