AboutFace was an interdisciplinary research initiative headquartered at the University of York led by Prof. Fay Bound Alberti and supported by a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. In 2023, the project moved to King’s College London, where it has been rebranded as Interface. Its primary focus revolves around studying the historical aspects of FTs and delving into their psychosocial and cultural significance. It is based on the collaboration with surgical teams, patients and families, organizations, and policymakers to assess the effects of FTs on patients, practitioners, donors, and families. Additionally, it aims to investigate the influence of media representations on policy and public opinion.
