الوصف: Dissertação apresentada à Universidade Federal de Lavras, como parte das exigências do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciência do Solo, área de concentração em Fertilidade do Solo e Nutrição de Plantas, para a obtenção do título de Mestre. ; Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, CNPq ; Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior, CAPES ; Fertilidade do Solo e Nutrição de Plantas ; The present study was conducted in clonal plantations of Eucalyptus urophylla and E. grandis spontaneous hybrids in the region of Campos das Vertentes, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on Pam Bioenergia company property, of the Saint Gobain group. The planting density of the study areas is 3.5 x 2.5 meters between rows and between plants, respectively totaling approximately 1142 - 6.5 year-old plants per hectare. The general objective of the study was to quantify the biomass and the nutrients in the litter of the plantings and in the different plant compartments, such as leaves, live branches, dead branches, bark, wood and total. In the first study plantings of the clone I-144 were appraised in the latosol and cambisol classes and in the second study the clones I-144 and I-220 were appraised only in the cambisol, for it being the most representative soil class of the region. For the evaluation, based on the recent forest plantation inventory, stands were chosen with the highest and lowest dominant heights, as it is the quality variable with higher representativeness of the forest sites. Having determined the stands for study, the evaluation of the average diameter at breast height (DBH) of each stand was conducted and 5 trees with average DBH cut down in each stand. The leaves and live and dead branches were weighed in the area, removing samples for determination of the humidity. For the trunk (wood + bark), the rigorous cubage was conducted through the collection of disks at 10 cm, at DBH and at 10, 30, 50 and 70% of the total height of the plants.
