| الوصف: | Objective: Asherman syndrome is defined as intrauterine adhesions usually occurring after pregnancy complications or various gynecologic surgeries. The increasing incidence of the syndrome enforced researches to continue the investigation for new treatment options. For this aim, in this study we tried to establish a rat model for intrauterine adhesions. Material and Methods: To establish the experimental protocol two Wistar-albino rats were used. Trichloroacetic acid was injected to the right uterine horn. Two weeks later a re-laparotomy was performed to check the model. Bilateral uterine horns were resected and were evaluated under light microscopy. Results: Under light microscopic evaluation, in both right uterine tissues remarkable intrauterine adhesions were observed. Conclusion: We established a rat model for intrauterine adhesions. To our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate an experimental rat model of intrauterine adhesion-Asherman syndrome. Copyright © 2014 by Türkiye Klinikleri |
