الوصف: Partant d’une enquête sociologique menée dans un « camp d’accueil » de demandeurs d’asile en Belgique, l’article s’interroge sur les modes d’existence dans cet « hors lieu » et « hors temps » qu’est le camp. Derrière le « vide » apparent de l’attente dans un présent décéléré, l’enquête met en évidence trois temporalités qui façonnent ensemble la respiration du camp et les conditions d’existence des demandeurs d’asile : le temps du rythme et du cadre qui tient le quotidien, le temps du cycle et du passage qui marque le sens de l’épreuve et, enfin, le temps plus singulier des articulations entre présent, passé et futur qui caractérisent « l’être au temps » des demandeurs d’asile. Après avoir exploré ces trois temporalités, l’auteure propose un concept qui permet de les faire tenir ensemble pour comprendre la texture du temps qui se trame dans ces « hors lieux », « hors temps » que sont les camps. ; Based on a sociological survey carried out in a camp for asylum seekers in Belgium, the article questions the modes of existence in this “out of place” and “out of time” that is the camp. Behind the apparent emptiness of waiting in a decelerated present, the investigation highlights three temporalities that together shape the breathing of the camp and the living conditions of asylum seekers: the rhythm of the framework that holds together daily life, the cycle and the passage that gives a sense of the ordeal and finally the singular time of the articulations between present, past and future which characterize the “being in time” of asylum seekers.
