The author reflects on a unanimous decisions made by the U.S. Supreme Court for two cases including the case of Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations, S.A. v. Brown in North Carolina and the case of J. Mclntyre Machinery Ltd. v. Nicastro in New Jersey. He informs that the Goodyear case provides a best example of appropriate limits of long-arm jurisdiction. He mentions that purpose of special long-arm jurisdiction was to enforce law for regulating costs on firms seeking benefit from the market. |
