Chemical investigation of the stem bark of Ochthocosmus africanus resulted in the isolation of one new triterpene, ochtofridelane (1) along with four known compounds including stigmasterol (2), N-p-trans-coumaroyltyramine (3) and taraxerol (4), the structure of these compounds was established by analysis of their spectra and by comparison of their data with those published in the literature. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first report of chemical constituents of Ochthocosmus genus.
