The article presents a case study of a 59 year old female patient with stage III carcinoma of the sigmoid colon who received an adjuvant oxaliplatin, folinic acid and 5-fluorouracil combination chemotherapy regimen every 2 weeks. A discussion of oxaliplatin-induced immune thrombocytopenia which the patient developed as a result of her chemotherapy is presented. |
