The author discusses the efforts by the European Federation Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients' Associations (EFA) to prevent the spread of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Europe. He says that the EFA hosted two workshops such as one on COPD prevention and diagnosis and on COPD research and care. Furthermore, the recommendations include the creation of grassroots campaign to raise awareness, the education of healthcare professionals, and the increased biomedical research. |
