The article reports on the case of a 40 year old man was admitted to the intensive care unit for loss of consciousness related to post-traumatic extradural hematoma, had surgery performed and developed green urine four days later. A discussion of diagnostic testing which was conducted on the man to find the cause of his green urine and which indicated that the color change was due to a reaction from propofol, a commonly used intravenous anaesthetic, is presented. Additional factors which can lead to the development of green urine are discussed. |
